The City Council of Sant Josep de sa Talaia recovers the V Soul Food Fest, an event already consolidated in the festive calendar of Cala de Bou that will finally be held on December 28 from 1 pm in the Auditorium of Caló de s’Oli. The event is part of the programming of the Christmas festivities of the municipality and returns with more strength after being postponed last October 12 because of heavy rains.
The day promises to fill this emblematic space with live music, gastronomic proposals and a festive atmosphere designed for both neighbors and visitors who are on the island during these dates.
A festival with roots in Cala de Bou
The councilor of Fiestas, Isabel Castellar, stressed the importance of recovering this event for the neighborhood. “The Soul Food Fest is part of the festive spirit of Cala de Bou and we were eager to recover it after having to cancel it because of the rain. It is a proposal deeply rooted in the neighborhood, combining music, food and atmosphere,” he said.
The festival has become in recent years a meeting point for those who enjoy American roots music and a culinary offer designed to share and enjoy outdoors.
Live music with blues, soul and rock essence.
The V Soul Food Fest will start at 1 p.m. and will combine throughout the day gastronomy with live music inspired by blues, soul and American rock. This year’s program stands out for the quality and authenticity of the proposals, all of them from local bands that bring their own vision of these classic genres.
Among the performances scheduled is Acoustic Springsteen, a recently created trio formed by musicians from the island. The group will offer intimate versions of Bruce Springsteen‘s repertoire, betting on a careful and sensitive interpretation that seeks to transmit the “feeling” of the deepest compositions of the American singer-songwriter.
Local bands and DJ sessions throughout the day.
Little Pomegranate Honey, a quintet that fuses American-style rock and blues through versions of great classics of the genre, will also take the stage. Led by guitarist Marc Serra, the band stands out for its energy and virtuosity, with a varied repertoire that connects with both expert audiences and amateurs.
In addition, throughout the day, Betterman DJ will be in charge of providing the ambiance for the moments of relaxation and accompanying the gastronomic service, contributing to create a complete experience in which music and food go hand in hand.
With this new edition, Sant Josep de sa Talaia is committed to recovering a festive event that strengthens the cultural and social life of Cala de Bou in the middle of the Christmas period, offering an attractive proposal for both residents and tourists.
