The Department of Culture, Education and Heritage of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa presents the new exhibition “Paisatgisme en el Fons Artístic del Consell Insular d’Eivissa”, an exhibition that highlights 35 works focused on the island’s landscape. The inauguration will take place today, Thursday, December 4 at 7 p.m. in Sa Nostra Sala, where the public will be able to see a plural and sensitive vision of Eivissa’s territory, from its rural and marine landscapes to urban corners of Vila and the towns.
A journey through the artistic gaze towards Ibiza
The exhibition brings together pieces created in different stages and styles, all from the Fons Artístic del Consell, made up of direct acquisitions, donations, works by collectors and works awarded in competitions such as the Premis Vuit d’Agost, the Premi de Pintura Jove Sant Miquel de Balansat or the Premi de Tardor de Pintura Jove.
In total, twenty artists are part of this selection, some with more than one work exhibited. Among the Ibizan authors, Josep Marí, Antoni Pomar and Narcís Puget Riquer stand out, together with creators based on the island such as Mario Stafforini, Erwin Broner or the renowned Catalan landscape painter José Manuel Chico Prats.
The value of the island’s pictorial heritage
The Councilor for Culture, Sara Ramon, has stressed the relevance of this proposal and the artistic ensemble that supports it: “In short, there are 35 works by 20 artists showing landscapes of the island, both from the coast and inland or urban areas of Vila and towns. I think it is very important to be able to offer these exhibitions for citizens to know the talent and our pictorial history.”
Ramon also highlighted the continuity of the cultural program during this year: “In this 2025 we have had 16 exhibitions in Sa Nostra Sala, with a very positive response from the public. We started the year with an exhibition of the Fons Artístic and we also closed it with this exhibition. Many works of the Fons have been acquired by the Consell or come from the Premis Vuit d’Agost and other island competitions, which enriches this heritage that we want to preserve and make known.”

A selection that reflects fields, sea and memory
The curator of the exhibition, Joan Albert Ribas, explained the complexity of the selection process due to the breadth of the Fons: “It was difficult to choose only 35 works because the Fons is very broad, and we wanted the selection to include Vila, the foreign part and also the sea, always so present in our painting”.
Ribas also highlighted the dynamic function of the Fons Artístic, which allows loans to other institutions: “This Fons also allows us to make loans to other institutions: we have recently loaned works to the City Council of Eivissa and also to Formentera. The aim of art is to reach the greatest number of people, and this exhibition is a great opportunity for citizens to rediscover spaces and landscapes that, in some cases, have already disappeared.”
Towards a future island museum
This is not the first occasion in which the Consell Insular shares part of its collection with the public. In previous years, exhibitions have been organized dedicated to authors such as
