The celebrations of Forada already have date and program for 2025, a calendar that will be deployed for more than a month with proposals that reinforce the link of the community with its traditions, popular culture and rural life of the municipality. Sports activities, gastronomy, music and events for all ages make up a particularly participatory edition.
The program was presented by the councilor of the Forada area, Pepita Torres, accompanied by Neus Torres and Cati Torres, members of the Associació de Vesins de Buscastell. The three highlighted the work of the entities and neighbors who, year after year, keep alive a festival that has become a benchmark of winter in Sant Antoni de Portmany.
Tradition to inaugurate a month of celebrations
On November 15, the IV Festa Pagesa – Venda de Forada will be held, a day focused on the roots of the Ibizan countryside that will include traditional games, ball pagès, raffles and a popular paella organized by Sa Colla de Buscastell.
The following day, Sunday 16, the family proposals will continue with the Master Team Kids Forada, a children’s cycling race, and a Nordic walk open to all audiences.
During the week, a talk on bird flu is scheduled for Friday 21, while the weekend of November 22 and 23 will bring together a range of activities: the trobada Mamis & Papis, a dinar de matances and the XV Festival Folklòric Arrels Vives, scheduled for November 30, a day that will also include a mass and a lunch in honor of the elderly.
December: history, heritage and popular music
The month of December will begin celebrating the 25th anniversary of Sa Colla de Buscastell, which from December 5 to 8 will exhibit a photographic exhibition on its trajectory. On the 6th a dramatized excursion to the church of Sant Antoni is proposed, followed by lunch at the restaurant Es Cruce.
On December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, the chapel of Forada will host the traditional solemn mass, followed by a ball pagès. The day will be rounded off with the theatrical play Un viatge regalatby Grup de Teatre des Cubells, and the concert by Arredefolk, known for fusing traditional sounds with contemporary rhythms.
Among the novelties this year is the Cursa d’Orientació de Forada, to be held on December 14 with family and popular routes, accompanied by a walk through s’Es Broll de Buscastell.
The festivities will conclude on December 23 with the traditional Christmas sauces and bescuit contest, a must for lovers of local gastronomy.
The City Council of Sant Antoni de Portmany invites everyone to participate in these festivities and enjoy a few weeks full of activities, music and popular culture.
