Ibiza starts this week its official program of “Eivissa, ciutat del Nadal”, an agenda full of music, family activities and cultural events that will run until January. The school ‘Nadales’, one of the most beloved events for families, will open the program this Wednesday, from 17.00 to 20.00 hours, in the envelat of Paseo de Vara de Rey, where students will perform a wide repertoire of traditional Christmas carols.
Thursday 11: choral music, Asian cuisine and concerts
The activity will continue on Thursday, December 11 with the auditions of the Cor Infantil and the Cor Juvenil del Patronat de Música, starting at 6.30 pm in Vara de Rey. That same day, the Centre C19 will offer an Asian cooking workshop for adults (price: 5 euros), while the Plaza de sa Graduada will feature live music at 7 pm.
The day will end with a concert for two pianos performed by Elvira Ramón and Llorenç Prats at the Can Ventosa Cultural Center.
Friday 12: gastronomy, music and children’s activities
On Friday, the Paseo de Vara de Rey will become a great meeting point with the Mercat Gastronòmic, which will merge gastronomy and musical performances. The program will open at 1 p.m. with Music 4 Life, and will continue at 10 p.m. with the concert “A Very Jazzy Christmas”, starring Miss Aránzazu and Omar Guzmán.
During the afternoon, the little ones will be able to have their photos taken at the magical photocall at the Pare Noel booth, with giant Christmas characters. In parallel, the Plaza del Parc will host the activity Nadal a Pedal, a cyclocarro tour available from 17.00 to 21.00 hours.
At 18.00 hours, the envelat will be the scene of the Christmas auditions of the Orchestra and the Band of the Patronat de Música.
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14: a weekend full of events
Saturday 13 will begin with an under-12 chess tournament in the envelat. Both in the morning and in the afternoon, the Christmas photocall and Nadal a Pedal will still be present, while the Reina Sofia park will be transformed into a Christmas city with bouncy castles and creative workshops.
The Caseta del Pare Noel will open extended hours and the Mercat Gastronòmic will offer live music with “Esta me la sé” at noon and Simbomba Flamenca at night. The Cor Veus Joves will present their recital Cantant al Nadal at sunset in the envelat.
In Ses Figueretes, the Julià Verdera square will host the Nadal Fest, a family festival full of shows, entertainment, workshops, games, inflatables and street market, between 16.00 and 20.00 hours. The day will conclude with a DJ session until 23.00 hours in the Plaza del Parc.
Sunday 14: itinerant music and more activities for the whole family
Sunday will be marked by Santa’s Band On The Road, one of the great novelties of this year. With a fresh and rock style, they will tour the neighborhoods of Eivissa Centre, Ca n’Escandell, ses Figueretes and Platja d’en Bossa.
Also, there will be a hiking route to es Rafal Trobat, departing from the parking lot of the Club de Camp. Children’s activities and the Ciutat Nadalenca will return to the Reina Sofia park, while the Caseta del Pare Noel and the photocall will continue in Vara de Rey.
The Mercat Gastronòmic will offer performances by Los del Varadero at noon and Carrer Boogaloo at sunset. El envelat will host the Festival de Dansa de la Davinia Van Praag Dance Academy, and Can Ventosa will celebrate the concert Eivissa Clàssica: Veus de llibertat i solitud, performed by Lina Tur, Federico Cuevas and Llorenç Prats.
