The Espai Cultural Can Ventosa will host this Sunday, January 11, 2026, ‘¡Vive la zarzuela!’, a musical show that pays tribute to the Spanish lyrical genre from a fresh, dynamic and close look to the public.
The proposal comes from the hand of the Ibizan company Art3 and is organized by the Ajuntament d’Eivissa.
The concert will begin at 19.00 hours and tickets are already on sale for 12 euros through the website culturaentradesonline.eivissa.es.
Those who purchased tickets for the October 12 performance will be able to use them for this new date, keeping the seats they selected.
A postponement forced by bad weather
The show was initially scheduled for October 12, but had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions, which caused the cancellation of several artists’ flights from Mallorca. This situation also prevented access to the theater during the morning, a key moment for the transfer of material and technical assembly.
Overcoming these setbacks, ‘¡Vive la zarzuela!’ returns with more strength and with the same enthusiasm to offer the Ibizan public an unforgettable musical evening.
The great jewels of the zarzuela repertoire
The concert proposes a journey through some of the most emblematic and beloved pages of the zarzuela repertoire. The program includes excerpts from such well-known titles as La Gran Vía, Doña Francisquita, Marina, Luisa Fernanda, La verbena de la Paloma and La revoltosa.
Live music, song, dance and storytelling are combined to create a festive, close and accessible experience, designed for all audiences, both residents and visitors who wish to approach one of the most representative genres of the Spanish musical tradition.
Art3 and a first-rate guest cast
The Art3 company is formed by three Ibizan artists with a solid joint trajectory: Lucía Herranz (soprano), Rocío Osuna (dancer) and Elvira Ramon (pianist). With more than 15 years of experience in the creation of multidisciplinary shows, they have signed productions such as Les fades dels somnis, La Pepa, Homenaje a Lorca, Sota la lluna, Siglo XX que te vas and several concerts commemorating the Day of Tolerance.
On this occasion, the show also has an outstanding guest cast from Palma de Mallorca, composed of Yolanda Riera (mezzo-soprano), Roger Berenguer (tenor) and Jorge Tello (baritone). They are joined by a group of dancers from Madrid: Juan Carlos Sánchez, José M. Carriazo, Diego Díaz, Feli Ruiz and Cristina Núñez.
The cast is completed by the actor and narrator Miguel Vingut, in charge of guiding the audience throughout the show with humor and complicity, bringing cohesion and closeness to the proposal.
An invitation to rediscover the zarzuela
With pieces as popular as the Mazurca de las sombrillas, the Fandango de Doña Francisquita or the unforgettable “¿Dónde vas con mantón de Manila?”, ‘¡Vive la zarzuela!’ invites you to rediscover a genre that continues to thrill generations .
