The blockages generated by this waste seriously affect the <strong data-start=\"1474\" data-end=\"1518\">operation of pumping systems<\/strong>, increasing <strong data-start=\"1548\" data-end=\"1588\">cleaning, repair and maintenance<\/strong> costs. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1945\">According to <span dir=\"auto\">Griv\u00e9 <\/span>, the removal and management of this waste <strong data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1714\">costs hundreds of thousands of euros a year<\/strong>, a cost that he describes as <strong data-start=\"1742\" data-end=\"1770\">&#8220;unnecessary and avoidable&#8221;.<\/strong> Added to this is the environmental impact derived from the dumping of non-biodegradable materials and the additional use of water and energy resources to solve the blockages. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1945\">\n<h5><a
