{"id":135574,"date":"2025-11-07T15:32:41","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T14:32:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/formentera-approves-budget-changes-to-meet-urgent-expenses\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T15:32:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T14:32:41","slug":"formentera-approves-budget-changes-to-meet-urgent-expenses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/formentera-approves-budget-changes-to-meet-urgent-expenses\/","title":{"rendered":"Formentera approves budget changes to meet urgent expenses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1456\">The <strong data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1216\">extraordinary plenary session of the Consell Insular de Formentera<\/strong> has approved this <strong data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1260\">Friday, November 7,<\/strong> a <strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1331\">budget amendment amounting to 4.1 million euros<\/strong>, intended to cover various <strong data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1397\">expenses that cannot be postponed<\/strong> to next year.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/it-was-a-costly-and-complex-process-the-consells-justification-for-not-having-withdrawn-the-helisara-before-the-storm\/?swcfpc=1\">&#8220;It was a costly and complex process&#8221;: the Consell&#8217;s justification for not having withdrawn the Helisara before the storm.<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1818\">The measure, presented after correcting a <strong data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1552\">technical error detected in a previous processing<\/strong>, is financed from the <strong data-start=\"1579\" data-end=\"1613\">liquid cash surplus<\/strong> derived from the liquidation of last year&#8217;s budget. According to the Consell, the objective is to <strong data-start=\"1708\" data-end=\"1769\">attend obligations and projects already executed or in progress<\/strong> in different areas of the insular administration. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2234\">Among the actions included are the <strong data-start=\"1864\" data-end=\"1900\">custody services for minors<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"1967\">rehabilitation of the stands of the municipal soccer field<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"1972\" data-end=\"2043\">collaboration with the Tax Agency of the Balearic Islands (ATIB)<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"2049\" data-end=\"2088\">acquisition of a share of Tragsa<\/strong>, a public environmental services company.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2234\">Guardianship of minors, the main focus<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2236\" data-end=\"2425\">Of the 4.1 million approved, <strong data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2376\">3.2 million are intended to cover the expenses derived from the guardianship of unaccompanied migrant minors<\/strong> under the protection of the island administration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2427\" data-end=\"2598\">The proposal obtained <strong data-start=\"2447\" data-end=\"2493\">the support of the Sa Uni\u00f3 government team<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"2498\" data-end=\"2546\">abstention of the PSOE and Gent per Formentera<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"2553\" data-end=\"2597\">vote against of the non-attached councilor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2602\" data-end=\"2845\">&#8220;This modification will allow the continuity of services and actions already underway,&#8221; said sources of the Consell, who stressed that the measure &#8220;responds to the need to maintain the financial balance and meet unavoidable commitments&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2867\" data-end=\"3259\">Credit modifications are a common tool in local administrations during the final part of the fiscal year, when the <strong data-start=\"3017\" data-end=\"3045\">budget surplus<\/strong> is used to face urgent or already executed expenses.
