{"id":136346,"date":"2025-11-11T15:39:30","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T14:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/ibizas-harsh-reality-16-homeless-women-receive-help-after-one-year-of-the-women-who-flourish-plan\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T15:39:30","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T14:39:30","slug":"ibizas-harsh-reality-16-homeless-women-receive-help-after-one-year-of-the-women-who-flourish-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/ibizas-harsh-reality-16-homeless-women-receive-help-after-one-year-of-the-women-who-flourish-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Ibiza&#8217;s harsh reality: 16 homeless women receive help after one year of the &#8216;Women who flourish&#8217; plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"91\" data-end=\"486\">The <strong data-start=\"94\" data-end=\"121\">Ibiza Town Hall <\/strong>and the organization <strong data-start=\"140\" data-end=\"161\">Doctors of the World<\/strong> have assisted <strong data-start=\"177\" data-end=\"231\">16 women in a situation of severe social exclusion<\/strong> during the first year of operation of the pilot plan <em data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"312\">&#8220;Mujeres que florecen&#8221; (Women who flourish<\/em>) <em data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"312\">.<\/em> Of these, <strong data-start=\"324\" data-end=\"374\">nine have already accessed a residential resource<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"380\" data-end=\"444\">90% are currently part of the network of Social Services<\/strong> of the Consistory of the capital of Ibiza. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"745\">The balance of the program was presented this Tuesday, <strong data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"564\">November 11, 2025<\/strong>, at the <strong data-start=\"572\" data-end=\"593\">Casal de Igualdad<\/strong>, within the awareness cycle <em data-start=\"631\" data-end=\"657\">&#8220;So close, so equal&#8221;,<\/em> dedicated to making visible the reality of people in situations of social exclusion.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"782\">Accompaniment and recovery<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"942\">The Councilor for Social Welfare and Housing, <strong data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"842\">Lola Pen\u00edn<\/strong>, stressed that the results of this first year demonstrate the effectiveness of the intervention model: &#8220;The results of this first year show us that projects such as <em data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1036\">&#8216;Mujeres que florecen&#8217;<\/em> are essential to accompany women living in situations of extreme exclusion, helping them to resume contact with public services and to begin a process of personal and social recovery.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1383\">For his part, the <strong data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1312\">director of Social Welfare, Iv\u00e1n Castros<\/strong>, underscored the value of individualized work with each participant: &#8220;We work with women who have often been made invisible, and the fact that most of them are already linked to the Social Services network shows that the intervention model works&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1581\" data-end=\"1624\">Comprehensive care for homeless women<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"2061\">The project, coordinated by the City Council and Doctors of the World, aims to provide <strong data-start=\"1722\" data-end=\"1743\">comprehensive care<\/strong> to women referred by the municipal Social Services who are <strong data-start=\"1821\" data-end=\"1886\">homeless, actively using drugs or in the process of detoxification<\/strong>. These women require <strong data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1969\">intensive follow-up and continuous accompaniment<\/strong> to reconnect with community resources and move towards autonomy. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2063\" data-end=\"2376\">Those in charge of presenting the results of the pilot plan were the <strong data-start=\"2132\" data-end=\"2195\">social worker of the Eivissa Town Council, Laia Amores<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"2202\" data-end=\"2252\">psychologist of Doctors of the World, Marta Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>, who explained that the program focuses on recovering the confidence and social bond of the participating women.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2406\">Consolidate the project<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2407\" data-end=\"2599\">Councilwoman <strong data-start=\"2420\" data-end=\"2434\">Lola Pen\u00edn<\/strong> said that the Eivissa Town Council will continue working to <strong data-start=\"2502\" data-end=\"2551\">consolidate the project and expand its coverage<\/strong> to more women in vulnerable situations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2602\" data-end=\"2829\">&#8220;Every woman who receives support is a life that can flourish again,&#8221;
