This change is part of the update of the <strong data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"592\">General Vehicle Regulations (RGV)<\/strong> promoted by the <strong data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"648\">Directorate General of Traffic (DGT)<\/strong>, which seeks to improve road safety in situations of breakdown or accident. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"948\">However, <strong data-start=\"740\" data-end=\"807\">not all devices available on the market are valid<\/strong>, and the DGT has warned that only beacons that have passed the official certification process may be used legally.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1017\"><strong data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1017\">Which V16 beacon models are homologated by the DGT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1019\" data-end=\"1478\">The DGT has published a list of <strong data-start=\"1058\" data-end=\"1124\">V16 beacon models that comply with the technical requirements<\/strong> established in the regulation and are therefore authorized to circulate. In routine controls, the <strong data-start=\"2207\" data-end=\"2235\">Guardia Civil de Tr\u00e1fico<\/strong> is authorized to check the vehicle&#8217;s documentation and mandatory safety elements. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2340\" data-end=\"2510\">As of <strong data-start=\"2353\" data-end=\"2375\">January 1, 2026<\/strong>, driving without an approved beacon may result in a <strong data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2457\">fine of up to 80 euros<\/strong>, although it will not result in the loss of license points.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2517\" data-end=\"2573\"><strong data-start=\"2521\" data-end=\"2573\">Why are emergency triangles disappearing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2958\">The introduction of the V16 beacons responds to the need to <strong data-start=\"2637\" data-end=\"2671\">reduce the risk of being run over<\/strong> on the road.
