Tourism is defended, it is managed,&#8221;<\/strong> said Mar\u00ed, who advocated a solid strategy based on real data, regulation, diversification, and collaboration with the private sector.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"1277\">In the framework of the <strong data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"998\">XII Ibiza Tourism Forum<\/strong>, held in Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu with the slogan <strong data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1151\">&#8220;Positive tourism: real solutions for a tourism with impact, coexistence and shared value&#8221;,<\/strong> Vicent Mar\u00ed has asked to face the challenges posed by the main and only economic industry of the island.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1543\">&#8220;No one is unaware that tourism, not only in Ibiza but also in all destinations in general, is living a decisive and challenging moment,&#8221; he warned, recalling that these challenges affect both the sector and those who have the responsibility to govern.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1550\" data-end=\"1607\">&#8220;What is done here, is followed.&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1609\" data-end=\"1862\">For the island president, Ibiza has a leading position that carries a great responsibility. <strong data-start=\"1720\" data-end=\"1852\">&#8220;Ibiza is a leading destination, which has marked a way of understanding tourism. What is done here is followed by other destinations,&#8221;<\/strong> he remarked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1864\" data-end=\"2142\">Mar\u00ed pointed out that local challenges -such as pressure on natural resources, mobility or the coexistence between tourists and residents- have taken on a global dimension, which obliges the island to be at the forefront and set trends in solutions as well.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2144\" data-end=\"2278\">&#8220;Today the debate is focused on management, on the ability to know and adapt to reality. <strong data-start=\"2144\" data-end=\"2268\">More no longer means better,&#8221;<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"633\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/ibiza-seduces-emerging-markets-in-the-east-and-diversifies-tourism\/?swcfpc=1\">Ibiza seduces emerging markets in the East and diversifies tourism<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2333\" data-end=\"2606\">Vicent Mar\u00ed insisted that managing means planning, innovating, continually evaluating and working, and that only a well-defined strategy can guarantee a tourism model that <strong data-start=\"2530\" data-end=\"2606\">&#8220;is perceived as a real opportunity for those who live on the island&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2608\" data-end=\"2927\">&#8220;Management is the tool to transform challenges into benefits and achieve balance from control, regulation and diversification of supply,&#8221; he said, stressing that tourism should not be understood as an enemy, but as an engine of progress that needs direction, not confrontation.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2934\" data-end=\"2990\">Tourism intelligence and data<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2992\" data-end=\"3335\">The island president stressed that for the first time <strong data-start=\"3042\" data-end=\"3102\">the island is being managed &#8220;from reality, from data&#8221;,<\/strong> and gave as an example the <strong data-start=\"3127\" data-end=\"3164\">Tourism Intelligence system<\/strong>, a tool that allows the development of effective policies and anticipate decisions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2992\" data-end=\"3335\"><strong data-start=\"3251\" data-end=\"3324\">&#8220;Without data there is no strategy. And without strategy there can be no future,&#8221;<\/strong> he warned.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3337\" data-end=\"3577\">One of the initiatives supported by this system is the <strong data-start=\"3395\" data-end=\"3429\">vehicle regulation law<\/strong>, whose objective is to <strong data-start=\"3448\" data-end=\"3509\">control the load capacity of Ibiza&#8217;s road network<\/strong>, betting on a <strong data-start=\"3535\" data-end=\"3577\">more efficient, accessible and sustainable<\/strong> model.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2558\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/marga-prohens-llama-al-turismo-britanico-a-participar-en-su-transformacion-sostenible\/?swcfpc=1\">Marga Prohens calls on British tourism to participate in its sustainable transformation<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3638\" data-end=\"3796\">Mar\u00ed also stressed the efforts of the Consell in terms of <strong data-start=\"3699\" data-end=\"3723\">control and inspection<\/strong>, as well as in the <strong data-start=\"3737\" data-end=\"3793\">fight against intrusion in the tourism sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3798\" data-end=\"4161\">&#8220;Illegal activities compromise the quality of the offer, <strong>deteriorate the service and damage the image of the destination<\/strong>,&#8221; he warned. In this sense, he placed value on direct collaboration with the sector, as in the case of the elimination of all illegal ads on digital platforms, which he described as &#8220;the beginning of a path of no return.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4221\" data-end=\"4439\">Vicent Mar\u00ed closed his speech with a strong message about the identity of the destination: <strong data-start=\"4310\" data-end=\"4439\">&#8220;We are a tourist island, an island of success.
