The mails of July 16 and 24: the first formal mention of Ibiza in the case files<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ibiza breaks into the official documentation of the Epstein case for the first time through two email chains dated July 16 and 24, 2010<\/strong>. The communications were released by the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives<\/strong> in the context of the publication of thousands of pages linked to the financier’s environment.<\/p>\n

The messages show the exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and a collaborator identified as Daniel S.<\/strong> and place Ibiza as a location for meetings, transfers and model stays during that summer.<\/p>\n

The July 24<\/strong> mailing is particularly explicit. Daniel S. declares to be on the island: “I’m with Tigrane; he wants to meet you. He’s here with me in Ibiza with eight top girls. He says he would like to start something with you. Can you come to Ibiza? We have a huge house; how can we arrange it?”<\/em><\/p>\n

The same message mentions Jean-Luc Brunel<\/strong>, a famous French modeling agent later arrested in 2020 in France. Daniel S. claims to have called him to see if he could join the meeting, “Even Jean-Luc could be a big deal. He has the most incredible models at his disposal.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Epstein replied tersely, “I will be in Paris tomorrow night.”<\/em> The documents do not indicate whether he ever traveled or whether any meeting took place in Ibiza.<\/p>\n

A luxury home on the island as a base of operations<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The July 16<\/strong> email describes in detail the alleged activity that, according to Daniel S., took place in Ibiza during those weeks. In that message, he assures that, “A great friend of mine rented a huge house in Ibiza, so he invited many girls from Russia, all models, because they will be doing photo shoots for several magazines.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The sender even specifies the schedule: twelve models would arrive on the island the week of July 22<\/strong>, and thirteen more the first week of August. All allegedly linked to the headhunter identified as Tigrane<\/strong>, whom he describes as someone who “used to work for Trump, but no longer.”<\/p>\n

The scenario drawn by these mails is that of a large residence<\/strong> used as a meeting point for agencies, models and figures from the international fashion world. According to documentation published by the US, Ibiza is at the heart of these plans.<\/p>\n

Models, talent scouts and trips to Paris: what the documents show<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The second tranche of emails increases the detail. Hours after the “eight top girls” message, Daniel S. writes to Epstein asking if he could travel to the island or provide the tickets for him, Tigrane and five models to travel to Paris: “Can you come to Ibiza or can you send us the ticket to come with Tigrane and five girls to Paris? They already have their return ticket from Barcelona.”<\/em> <\/p>\n

The chain records flight plans<\/strong>, movements between European cities<\/strong> and coordinated movements of groups of models<\/strong>. There is no information in the documents to determine whether these trips were actually carried out, but they do reveal that the intention to organize meetings was real and explicitly discussed.<\/p>\n

Brunel’s role and parallel investigations<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Jean-Luc Brunel<\/strong> is mentioned in these emails as a possible attendee of the proposed meetings in Ibiza. The French agent was arrested in December 2020 on suspicion of crimes related to sexual exploitation of minors and died in prison in 2022.<\/p>\n

The presence of “Daniel S.” in the Ibiza-related emails coincides with the name mentioned in a report broadcast by the French public channel France 2, where an investigative program identified a “Daniel S.” as a figure in the entourage of modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel. La Voz de Ibiza<\/strong> has not been able to independently verify whether this is the same person.<\/p>\n

What has been proven is the mention of Brunel in the Ibiza communications and the sender’s willingness to include him in the meetings planned on the island.<\/p>\n

U.S. downplays third-party involvement, but documents show international activity<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The release of these communications coincided with a memo from the U.S. Department of Justice<\/strong> assuring that the review of the Epstein case files “did not reveal any incriminating client lists” and that there was insufficient evidence to investigate unindicted third parties. The White House – then under Republican administration – insisted that these emails “prove absolutely nothing.”<\/p>\n

Even so, the documents show conversations about travel<\/strong>, models<\/strong>, industry figures<\/strong>, stays in Ibiza<\/strong> and concrete meeting plans<\/strong>. The emails do not prove crimes, but they do place the island in the circuit of interests and contacts of Epstein’s entourage during the summer of 2010.<\/p>\n

What the e-mails say – and what they don’t say – about the connection to Ibiza<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The published documents place Ibiza as a point of reference in the communications of Epstein’s circle: a large house, models traveling to the island for photo shoots, proposals for meetings with international talent scouts and movements between Ibiza, Paris and Barcelona. All written in a direct way by one of his contacts. <\/p>\n

There are no records confirming that Epstein ever set foot on the island or that criminal activity took place on Ibiza. The emails only reveal intentions, logistics and planning<\/strong>, not faits accomplis. But they still represent the first formal mention of Ibiza in the official case files<\/strong>, placing the island on an international map that continues to generate headlines fifteen years later. <\/p>\n

Ibiza enters the documentation of the Epstein case<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The appearance of Ibiza in these emails does not change the judicial nature of the case, but it does add a new element: the island appears as a proposed meeting place<\/strong>, as a temporary base for activities linked to the world of international modeling<\/strong> and as a point of connection<\/strong> between some of the actors later investigated by different countries.<\/p>\n
