The signs will remain installed <strong data-start=\"1087\" data-end=\"1111\">until the end of the year<\/strong>, although <strong data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1175\">future complementary actions<\/strong> along the same lines are not ruled out. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1254\">Two fatal accidents<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1582\">The intervention takes place in one of the <strong data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1355\">most accident-prone areas of the bay of Portmany<\/strong>, where there have been <strong data-start=\"1380\" data-end=\"1420\">two fatal accidents in 2025 alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1582\">This is a road with narrow sidewalks, no physical barriers between pedestrians and vehicles, and where speed limits are frequently violated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"2224\">The first accident occurred <strong data-start=\"1612\" data-end=\"1637\">on Sunday, May 18<\/strong>, when a <strong data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1694\">62-year-old tourist from Torrevieja<\/strong> was hit by a <strong data-start=\"1718\" data-end=\"1744\">Dacia Dokker van<\/strong> while walking in the early morning.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"2224\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/detenido-el-conductor-que-mato-a-un-peaton-en-cala-de-bou\/?swcfpc=1\">Provisional jail for driver who killed pedestrian in Cala de Bou: he can be released on bail<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"2224\">The driver, a 30-year-old man of Peruvian nationality, was four times the legal alcohol limit and, according to official sources, <strong data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"1958\">fell asleep at the wheel<\/strong>. The vehicle hit signs and street furniture before ramming the pedestrian, who <strong data-start=\"2040\" data-end=\"2089\">was trapped under the underbody of the van<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"2224\">The SAMU 061 emergency services could only certify his death.
