{"id":137754,"date":"2025-11-17T13:39:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T12:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/ibiza-takes-a-740000-euro-axe-to-illegal-tourist-rentals\/"},"modified":"2025-11-17T13:42:56","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T12:42:56","slug":"ibiza-takes-a-740000-euro-axe-to-illegal-tourist-rentals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/ibiza-takes-a-740000-euro-axe-to-illegal-tourist-rentals\/","title":{"rendered":"Ibiza takes a 740,000 euro axe to illegal tourist rentals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"222\" data-end=\"479\">The Local Government Board of the Ibiza Town Hall has approved this Monday the imposition of two <strong data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"347\">urban planning sanctions<\/strong> derived from the <strong data-start=\"362\" data-end=\"399\">illegal tourist use of dwellings<\/strong>, for a joint amount of <strong data-start=\"428\" data-end=\"448\">740,239.51 euros<\/strong>, as reported by the Consistory.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"927\">The penalties correspond to the value of the affected buildings-453<strong data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"568\">,416.77 euros<\/strong> in one case and <strong data-start=\"582\" data-end=\"602\">286,822.74 euros<\/strong> in the other-on which the sanctioning criteria provided for in the current regulations have been applied, having been accredited a <strong data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"811\">change of use from residential to tourist without the necessary enabling title<\/strong>, an infringement classified as <strong data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"853\">serious<\/strong> in Law 12\/2017, of December 29, of Urban Planning of the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"927\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/por-que-las-viviendas-sancionadas-por-alquiler-ilegal-no-vuelven-al-mercado\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Why homes sanctioned for illegal renting do not return to the market<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"980\">Unauthorized housing for tourists<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1441\">During one of the inspections carried out in 2024 by the Local Police, the agents found that one of the sanctioned dwellings was being used for <strong data-start=\"1145\" data-end=\"1183\">tourist accommodation without a license<\/strong>, in contravention of urban planning regulations. In application of article 167.4 of Law 12\/2017 &#8211; which establishes fines of between 50% and 100% of the value of the building when the change of use is not permitted &#8211; the corresponding sanction was imposed. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_137746\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-137746\" style=\"width: 1080px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-137745 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/ArxiuInspeccionsLLoguerturisticIllegal2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"721\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/ArxiuInspeccionsLLoguerturisticIllegal2.jpeg 1080w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/ArxiuInspeccionsLLoguerturisticIllegal2-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/ArxiuInspeccionsLLoguerturisticIllegal2-768x513.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-137746\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Local Police Operation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1812\">The second file concerns another dwelling where an unauthorized tourist use was also verified. In this case, the sanction has been issued in accordance with Articles 163 and 167 of Law 12\/2017 and the <strong data-start=\"1650\" data-end=\"1694\">Regulation of the sanctioning procedure<\/strong> approved by Decree 1\/2024, which regulates the criteria for graduation and responsibility in urban planning matters. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1814\" data-end=\"1873\">The City Council keeps up the pressure against intrusiveness<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1875\" data-end=\"2278\">The mayor of Eivissa, <strong data-start=\"1898\" data-end=\"1917\">Rafael Triguero<\/strong>, has defended the importance of acting firmly against this type of non-compliance. &#8220;<strong data-start=\"2007\" data-end=\"2103\">Flats without a tourist license cannot be rented to those who come to Eivissa on vacation<\/strong>, because they represent unfair competition for the hotel sector or legal tourist housing.
