The day, which took place between the IES Xarc and the Palau de Congressos, has sought to generate reflection and concrete proposals to move towards greater gender equality in school sports on the island. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"282\" data-end=\"721\">\n<h5><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/deporte-inclusivo-en-las-aulas-eivissa-pone-en-marcha-la-quinta-edicion-del-die\/\">Inclusive sport in the classroom: Eivissa launches the fifth edition of DIE<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"784\">Equality, central axis of the program &#8220;Nena i Esport&#8221;.<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1172\">During the meeting, the Councilor for Sports, <strong data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"851\">Salvador Losa<\/strong>, stressed that this first edition &#8220;represents the essence of the values we defend: effort, respect, coexistence and equality&#8221;. Losa thanked the involvement of teachers, students and all the people who have made possible a day &#8220;so necessary&#8221;, stressing that &#8220;when sport educates, it transforms&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1417\">The Equality Olympiad is part of the <strong data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1246\">&#8220;Nena i Esport&#8221;<\/strong> program <strong data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1246\">,<\/strong> promoted by the Consell d&#8217;Eivissa to promote the participation of girls in grassroots sports and reduce the gender gap that still persists in many disciplines.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1476\">Workshops, moral dilemmas and sports references<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1756\">The activities began early in the morning at IES Xarc with an institutional reception for teachers and a <strong data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1612\">non-sexist gymkhana<\/strong> designed by high school students. There were also yoga workshops, exhibitions and contests created by the students. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1758\" data-end=\"2054\">Later, the Palau de Congressos hosted the official opening, the presentation of the &#8220;Nena i Esport&#8221; program, the resolution of moral dilemmas and a meeting with young <strong data-start=\"1957\" data-end=\"1974\">archery<\/strong> athletes, who shared their experience on discipline, perseverance and self-improvement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2056\" data-end=\"2381\">One of the most relevant moments was the discussion around real situations raised by the students, such as cases of <strong data-start=\"2180\" data-end=\"2203\">harassment of a female referee<\/strong> or derogatory comments towards female players. The active participation of fathers, mothers, students and teachers made it possible to analyze how the environment influences the confidence, self-esteem and continuity of girls in the practice of sports. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2776\" data-end=\"3017\">The workshops and spaces for reflection demonstrated that sport not only fosters physical skills, but is also a decisive tool for transmitting values such as <strong data-start=\"2950\" data-end=\"3016\">self-discipline, self-control and overcoming adversity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3024\" data-end=\"3081\">Three job courses to bridge the gender gap<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3083\" data-end=\"3400\">The celebration of this first Olympiad comes after <strong data-start=\"3135\" data-end=\"3160\">three school years<\/strong> developing the &#8220;Nena i Esport&#8221; program, in which <strong data-start=\"3230\" data-end=\"3255\">32<\/strong> primary and secondary <strong data-start=\"3230\" data-end=\"3255\">schools<\/strong> have participated. IES Xarc was selected as the venue for the quality of its pedagogical project and the involvement of its teaching staff. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3402\" data-end=\"3743\">Over the years, the Consell has organized world caf\u00e9s, round tables, comic contests, olympics and multiple activities designed to <strong data-start=\"3542\" data-end=\"3595\">break the gender gap in sports<\/strong>.
