The City Council of Ibiza, together with the Consell Insular, the Pimeef and the distinctive Sabors d’Eivissa, has presented this Thursday the II Fira Sabors de la ciudad de Eivissa<\/strong> and the III Concurso de Tortilla con Patata Roja<\/strong>, two events to be held this Saturday, November 22<\/strong> at the Paseo de Vara de Rey<\/strong>, between 10.30 and 17.00 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the presentation, the councilman of Commerce and Markets, \u00c0lex Minchiotti<\/strong>, stressed that the day will feature “a wide program of activities aimed at promoting local products and to give visibility to the primary and gastronomic sector of the island”.<\/p>\n

Producers’ market, tapas and showcookings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The fair will start at 10.30 am<\/strong> with a traditional ballada by the Colla de Vila<\/strong>, which will serve as the official opening of the event.<\/p>\n

From 11.00 to 15.00 hours<\/strong>, the public will be able to enjoy tapas made with local produce<\/strong>, priced at 5 euros<\/strong>. In addition, between 12.00 and 14.00 hours<\/strong>, there will be several showcookings<\/strong> starring chefs and producers of kilometer zero, which will show different ways to reinterpret the traditional ingredients of the island. <\/p>\n

The farmers’ market<\/strong> will bring together representatives of the primary sector who will offer fresh and local products.<\/p>\n

The most awaited contest: the tortilla with red potato from Ibiza<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The main event will be the third edition of the Red Potato Omelette Contest of Ibiza<\/strong>, where 12 groups<\/strong> will compete. The insular director of Rural and Marine Environment, Joan Mar\u00ed<\/strong>, and the president of Pimeef Restauraci\u00f3n, Miquel Tur<\/strong>, pointed out that the contest aims to “value local products and promote their consumption both in restaurants and among citizens”. <\/p>\n

This contest, one of the most followed of the fair, will focus on the red potato of Ibiza<\/strong>, an emblematic ingredient of the local countryside that will become the axis of the culinary proposals of the participants.<\/p>\n
