The City Council of Eivissa, through the Arxiu Hist\u00f2ric d’Eivissa i Formentera (AHEiF), organizes the VII Jornades d’Estudis Locals de Mem\u00f2ria Hist\u00f2rica<\/strong>, which this year are entitled “Mem\u00f2ria recuperada: hist\u00f2ries personals”<\/em>. The sessions will be held on November 24, 26 and 27<\/strong>, at 8 p.m.<\/strong>, in the Mari\u00e0 Villang\u00f3mez Room of the Municipal Library of Eivissa<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Already consolidated as an essential meeting point for research and dissemination of historical knowledge of the island, these conferences present in 2025 a program focused on the importance of personal memory<\/strong> as a fundamental tool for reconstructing the common history.<\/p>\n

        The speakers: leaders in historical memory and local research<\/h2>\n

        Maria Escalas Bernat<\/h3>\n

        Mallorcan writer and musician, she develops her work in Catalan and combines literary creation with teaching and editorial accompaniment. She debuted with Abans que el teu record torni cendra<\/g> (2016), followed by Sara i els silencis<\/g> (2018) and Estimada Mirta<\/g> (2021). With Matilde E.<\/em> (2024) she won the Lloren\u00e7 Villalonga Prize for Novel in Catalan 2023. His most recent work, No va quedar res (<\/em> 2025), will be the protagonist of his intervention in this conference. <\/p>\n

        Almudena Garc\u00eda-Rubio<\/h3>\n

        With a degree in History and a PhD in Physical Anthropology, she has been a researcher at the Aranzadi Science Society since 2003. She has directed the fosses plans of the Balearic Government and all the excavation campaigns of the Cementiri Vell de Vila grave<\/strong> since 2018. <\/p>\n

        David Ginard Fer\u00f3n<\/h3>\n

        Doctor in History and professor at the UIB, he has directed the collection Quaderns d’Hist\u00f2ria Contempor\u00e0nia de les Balears<\/em> since 1996. He is the author of some twenty books on the labor movement, women’s history and the Civil War. His most recent publication is Contra Franco i Falange: les resist\u00e8ncies clandestines a les Balears (1939-1948)<\/em>. <\/p>\n

        Mateu Morro Marc\u00e9<\/h3>\n

        Historian and author of numerous works on history and popular culture of the Balearic Islands, including Els Norats (1936-1949)<\/em>, the focus of his presentation. His work ranges from oral tradition to key episodes of the anti-fascist movement. <\/p>\n

        Manel Su\u00e1rez Salv\u00e0<\/h3>\n

        Secondary school teacher and researcher specialized in Franco’s prisoners in Mallorca<\/strong> and in the penitentiary colony of Formentera, the central theme of his talk. He has been awarded by the City Council of Sa Pobla and Maria de la Salut, and has participated in research that has allowed historical exhumations. <\/p>\n

        Llu\u00eds Ruiz Val<\/h3>\n

        Professor of Geography and History and president of the F\u00f2rum per la Mem\u00f2ria d’Eivissa i Formentera. Under his direction have been promoted exhibitions, catalogs and the map of fosses Mem\u00f2ria contra l’oblit<\/g> (2015). He has published several works on democratic memory and narrative. <\/p>\n

        Antoni Tur Cardona Cardonet<\/h3>\n

        Sociocultural animator and co-founder of the Taller de Flauta Dol\u00e7a, he has worked to recover the memory of his grandfather, Antoni Cardona Riera<\/strong>, mayor of Sant Josep during the II Republic. His research has been key to request the nullity of the court martial that condemned him. <\/p>\n
