The Consell de Govern has authorized this Friday the Conselleria del Mar y del Ciclo del Agua to process the expenditure of the compensation file to the company Servicios y Concesiones Mar\u00edtimas Ibicencas SA<\/strong>, corresponding to the discounts applied to residents in the routes of the regular inter-island maritime transport service during the second quarter of 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As reported by the Conselleria in a statement, the compensation amounts to 1.17 million euros<\/strong>, an amount that will be financed from the budget of the Autonomous Community of 2025<\/strong>. This mechanism is intended to ensure that shipping companies that operate connections within the archipelago can apply the mandatory discounts to residents without assuming economic losses. <\/p>\n

The file has been managed by the General Directorate of Ports and Maritime Transport<\/strong>, which has verified the justification of the amount by means of the pertinent technical reports. The application submitted by the concessionary company complies with all the requirements established in the regulations governing the subsidy system. <\/p>\n

This compensation scheme allows residents of the Balearic Islands to continue to have access to reduced fares on inter-island journeys<\/strong>, under similar conditions to those enjoyed by residents of the mainland in terms of air or rail transport. In addition, it contributes to strengthening territorial cohesion<\/strong>, equity in mobility<\/strong> and social integration within the insular sphere. <\/p>\n
