He noted that the organization will have to take on new responsibilities and that management will need more support to sustain the pace of management.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2359\" data-end=\"2505\">He said: <strong data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2464\">&#8220;There will be new positions. They are reinforcements to what we already have, reinforcements to the organizational chart.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2512\" data-end=\"2566\"><strong data-start=\"2515\" data-end=\"2566\">&#8220;Caring for caregivers&#8221; as the focus of the project.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2568\" data-end=\"2973\">During the presentation, Escudero remarked that the well-being of healthcare professionals will be an essential pillar of his time as manager. He stated that <strong data-start=\"2705\" data-end=\"2816\">&#8220;if we take care of the professionals, we will take much better care of the people who need our attention&#8221;,<\/strong> arguing that the stability and emotional health of the teams have a direct impact on the quality of care. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2980\" data-end=\"3033\"><strong data-start=\"2983\" data-end=\"3033\">Demographic pressure and increasing seasonality<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3035\" data-end=\"3393\">The new manager described the healthcare context, pointing out that the Health Area serves <strong data-start=\"3129\" data-end=\"3151\">170,000 inhabitants<\/strong> on two islands and is under <strong data-start=\"3179\" data-end=\"3234\">very high demographic pressure during the vacations<\/strong>, in addition to high <strong data-start=\"3255\" data-end=\"3273\">seasonality<\/strong> and a structural housing problem that conditions the hiring of personnel.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/resignation-of-the-manager-of-the-health-area-of-ibiza-and-formentera-in-the-middle-of-an-internal-crisis\/?swcfpc=1\">Resignation of the manager of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera in the middle of an internal crisis<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"3400\" data-end=\"3466\"><strong data-start=\"3403\" data-end=\"3466\">Project continuity and recognition of previous work<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3468\" data-end=\"3865\">Escudero praised the work of the outgoing manager, Enrique Garcer\u00e1n, stressing that the institution must maintain the course set during the last two and a half years. He stressed that his arrival in the position should be understood as <strong data-start=\"3685\" data-end=\"3704\">a continuity<\/strong>, not as a rupture, and that the objective is &#8220;not to deviate the ship&#8221; at a time when the trend in the area is positive. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3872\" data-end=\"3931\"><strong data-start=\"3875\" data-end=\"3931\">Objectives: primary care, mental health and waiting lists<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3933\" data-end=\"4311\">The Minister of Health recalled that the Government&#8217;s strategic lines include <strong data-start=\"4012\" data-end=\"4044\">expanding primary care<\/strong>, strengthening <strong data-start=\"4055\" data-end=\"4074\">mental health<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"4077\" data-end=\"4109\">reducing waiting lists<\/strong>. Escudero took these objectives as his own and stated that his task will be to ensure that the area continues to make progress on them with technical criteria and coordinated work.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4377\" data-end=\"4750\">The new manager claimed his 28 years of experience in the hospital and listed the evolution of the ICU: &#8220;when I arrived there were five beds, then nine, then twelve and now fifteen&#8221;.
