{"id":139501,"date":"2025-11-24T08:45:41","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T07:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/d-day-for-ibiza-and-formentera-civil-servants-insularity-bonus-and-salary-increase-at-stake\/"},"modified":"2025-11-24T08:45:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T07:45:41","slug":"d-day-for-ibiza-and-formentera-civil-servants-insularity-bonus-and-salary-increase-at-stake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/d-day-for-ibiza-and-formentera-civil-servants-insularity-bonus-and-salary-increase-at-stake\/","title":{"rendered":"D-Day for Ibiza and Formentera civil servants: insularity bonus and salary increase at stake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"837\">This Monday is shaping up to be a decisive day for the <strong data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"439\">more than 7,000 state civil servants<\/strong> working in <strong data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"497\">Ibiza, Formentera, <\/strong>Mallorca and Menorca, as negotiations are underway in Madrid with the Ministry of Public Function on two key measures: the <strong data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"658\">equalization of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/?s=insularidad&amp;lang=es\">insularity<\/a> complement<\/strong> with that received by public employees in the Canary Islands, and the <strong data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"738\">salary increase<\/strong> for the next four years that would benefit the <strong data-start=\"792\" data-end=\"824\">72,000 public workers<\/strong> in the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"837\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/civil-servants-in-ibiza-and-formentera-will-receive-300-euros-more-per-month-when-the-insularity-bonus-is-equalized-to-the-canary-islands\/?swcfpc=1\">Civil servants in Ibiza and Formentera will receive 300 euros more per month when the insularity bonus is equalized to the Canary Islands.<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"1169\">From the <strong data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"865\">UGT<\/strong> union, they emphasize that this agreement would correct a discrimination that especially affects <strong data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"981\">Ibiza and Formentera<\/strong>, where workers could see their monthly salary increase between <strong data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1075\">190 and 550 euros<\/strong>, depending on their professional group, as a result of the <strong data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1168\">double or triple insularity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1680\">If a pact is not reached this Monday, <strong data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1329\">the unions will call a strike<\/strong> in the general administration of the State in the Balearic Islands for next Thursday, November 27.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1680\">UGT claims the Government to take into account the high cost of living in the archipelago, especially the <strong data-start=\"1533\" data-end=\"1580\">price of housing in Ibiza and Formentera<\/strong>, to justify the urgent need to equalize the residence allowance with that of the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1687\" data-end=\"1756\"><strong data-start=\"1691\" data-end=\"1756\">11% wage increase over four years<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1758\" data-end=\"2087\">In addition to the insularity allowance, an <strong data-start=\"1812\" data-end=\"1851\">11% wage increase<\/strong> is being negotiated <strong data-start=\"1812\" data-end=\"1851\">until 2028<\/strong>. UGT has proposed a progressive schedule: 2.5% in 2025, 1.5% in 2026, 5% in 2027 and 2% in 2028. The union assures that, if the agreement is concluded, in just thirteen months the civil servants will have already received <strong data-start=\"2064\" data-end=\"2086\">a 9% increase.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1758\" data-end=\"2087\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/insularidad-digna-el-grito-de-los-funcionarios-del-estado-en-ibiza\/?swcfpc=1\">&#8220;Dignified insularity&#8221;: the cry of state civil servants in Ibiza<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2221\">On the other hand, other labor improvements are being discussed, such as the <strong data-start=\"2155\" data-end=\"2190\">flexibilization of teleworking<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2220\">reconciliation<\/strong> measures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2815\">However, the CSIF union dissociates itself from the agreement proposed by the Civil Service and assures that there is still room for improvement, especially in the 2025 and 2026 tranches.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2815\">The president of CSIF in the Balearic Islands, Luis Apolinar, criticizes that the offer does not compensate the loss of purchasing power that public employees drag since 2010. However, they value the ministerial commitment to <strong data-start=\"2678\" data-end=\"2732\">review and update the complement of insularity<\/strong>, although they warn that the filtered amounts are below expectations. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2876\" data-end=\"3125\">The CCOO has chosen to remain silent on Monday pending the final outcome of the talks, but insist that the <strong data-start=\"3027\" data-end=\"3097\">equalization of the insularity bonus with the Canary Islands is an<\/strong> absolute <strong data-start=\"3027\" data-end=\"3097\">priority<\/strong> for the
