The debate on the updating of public salaries has returned to the center of the agenda: after the initial rejection by the main unions (UGT, CSIF and CCOO) of the Government’s first offer, the Ministry of Civil Service has put forward a new proposal to improve the salaries of the more than three and a half million civil servants<\/strong> in Spain. The objective is to set an increase that would be applied gradually between 2025 and 2028. <\/p>\n

The new offer proposes a total increase of 11%<\/strong>, although the percentage could reach 11.5%<\/strong> because each annual increase would be applied on the salary already updated from the previous year. Despite the revision, the Executive considers that the proposal cannot be extended, a position that still does not convince CSIF and is being analyzed by the rest of the trade union organizations. <\/p>\n

For now, the Ministry has only advanced that the maximum increase for 2025 and 2026 will not exceed 4%, while UGT advocates concentrating a 5% increase in 2027.<\/p>\n

This is how civil servants’ salaries would look like after the increase<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Although the exact distribution of the annual increase has not yet been finalized, indicative calculations give an idea of the effect on the various professional groups. The final remuneration also depends on elements such as three-year increments, specific allowances or destination allowances, which vary according to position and seniority. <\/p>\n

Only taking as a reference this last concept (destination allowance), the A1 group<\/strong>, the one with the greatest responsibility, would be the one that would advance the most, with a salary that could exceed 36,300 euros per year<\/strong> at the end of the period.<\/p>\n

In the case of the A2 subgroup<\/strong>, remuneration would rise from the current<\/strong> approximately \u20ac30,700<\/strong> to a figure close to \u20ac34,120<\/strong> in 2028.<\/p>\n

Group B<\/strong>, on the other hand, would reach around 32,320 euros<\/strong>, while C1<\/strong> employees could reach around 30,230 euros<\/strong>, compared to the current 27,230 euros<\/strong>. At the C2<\/strong> level, the planned increase would make it possible to reach around 28,290 euros per year<\/strong> once the cycle of increases has been completed. <\/p>\n

The Government’s proposal has a transversal impact and would reach all personnel employed in the public sector<\/strong>, without distinction between bodies or administrations. This includes the General State Administration as well as autonomous communities, city councils and dependent public bodies. <\/p>\n

Among the groups affected are the State Security Forces and Corps<\/strong> (National Police and Civil Guard), the Armed Forces<\/strong>, civil servants of the Administration of Justice<\/strong>, the personnel of Penitentiary Institutions<\/strong>, employees of administrative services and workers of state agencies.<\/p>\n

Professionals in particularly stressed areas such as health<\/strong> and education<\/strong>, sectors where the unions have long been calling for more specific improvements, would also be included.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
