Our country competed in three categories with four different productions and ended up winning <strong data-start=\"744\" data-end=\"791\">two awards of enormous international weight<\/strong>: the award for <strong data-start=\"805\" data-end=\"820\">best actor<\/strong> for <strong data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"839\">Oriol Pla<\/strong>, for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.disneyplus.com\/es-es\/browse\/entity-920140d0-e09c-4dd4-b9ba-754a82d6f9de\"><em data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"857\">I, Addict<\/em><\/a> (Disney+), and the <strong data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"907\">best sports documentary<\/strong> award for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/ar\/title\/81737633\"><em data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"948\">#SeAcab\u00f3: Diario de las campeonas (Netflix).<\/em><\/a> (Netflix), focused on the history of the women&#8217;s national team after the 2023 World Cup and Luis Rubiales&#8217; non-consensual kiss with Jenni Hermoso. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/cultura\/quienes-fueron-los-grandes-ganadores-de-los-premios-emmy-2025-sorpresas-discursos-y-momentos-clave\/?swcfpc=1\">Who the big winners were at the 2025 Emmy Awards: surprises, speeches and key moments<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1260\">Even so, Spain came up short in the <strong data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1170\">best telenovela<\/strong> category, where <em data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1193\">Valle salvaje<\/em> and <em data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1219\">Regreso a Las Sabinas<\/em> could not beat Turkey&#8217;s <em data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1259\">Deha<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1267\" data-end=\"1334\"><strong data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1332\">A documentary that became a milestone: the triumph of <em data-start=\"1320\" data-end=\"1330\">#SeAcab\u00f3<\/em>.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1734\">The documentary <strong data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1387\">#SeAcab\u00f3: Diario de las campeonas<\/strong>, produced by <strong data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1426\">You First Originals<\/strong>, won against major international rivals such as <em data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1495\">Argentina &#8217;78<\/em> (Disney+), <em data-start=\"1507\" data-end=\"1526\">Chasing the Sun 2<\/em> (South Africa) and <em data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1547\">Sven<\/em> (UK). The piece reconstructs the historic triumph of the women&#8217;s national team in 2023 and the subsequent social earthquake generated by Rubiales&#8217; unwanted kiss to <strong data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1733\">Jenni Hermoso<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"2027\">The producers, <strong data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"1772\">Javier Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1796\">Luis Miguel Calvo<\/strong>, previously explained that &#8220;some 4,000 sports documentaries&#8221; are released every year, a fact that shows the challenge of standing out. In order to obtain the rights of the players, they competed with &#8220;around twenty production companies&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qt_DejRqUM4?si=Bv-YSRU6HQa3Lr0b\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2029\" data-end=\"2074\">In fact, they told <em>EL PA\u00cdS<\/em> that during production: <span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">&#8220;We received pressures to limit our creative freedom, censorship in the context of the interviews, calls to reconsider the project&#8230;&#8221;. <\/span>Even so, they remained firm in their objective: <span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">&#8220;Our purpose has been firm from the beginning: to give voice to the story of the players&#8221;. <\/span>The international award confirms that they succeeded. Mart\u00ednez and <strong data-start=\"2435\" data-end=\"2452\">Joanna Pardos<\/strong> collected the award visibly moved. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2508\" data-end=\"2586\"><strong data-start=\"2511\" data-end=\"2586\">Oriol Pla, Emmy for Best Actor: a historic award for <em data-start=\"2572\" data-end=\"2584\">I, Addict<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2588\" data-end=\"2879\">The other great Spanish triumph came with <strong data-start=\"2627\" data-end=\"2640\">Oriol Pla<\/strong>, who won the International Emmy for <strong data-start=\"2675\" data-end=\"2690\">best actor<\/strong> for his performance in <em data-start=\"2716\" data-end=\"2728\">Yo, adicto<\/em>, the adaptation of the autobiography of writer and director <strong data-start=\"2788\" data-end=\"2802\">Javi Giner<\/strong>, who narrates his fall into the world of drugs and his subsequent recovery.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2881\" data-end=\"2901\">Pla competed against:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2903\" data-end=\"3066\">\n<li data-start=\"2903\" data-end=\"2965\">\n<p data-start=\"2905\" data-end=\"2965\"><strong data-start=\"2905\" data-end=\"2923\">Diljit Dosanjh<\/strong><em data-start=\"2925\" data-end=\"2946\">(Amar Singh Chamkila<\/em>, India, Netflix)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2966\" data-end=\"3012\">\n<p data-start=\"2968\" data-end=\"3012\"><strong data-start=\"2968\" data-end=\"2986\">David Mitchell<\/strong><em data-start=\"2988\" data-end=\"2996\">(Ludwig<\/em>, United Kingdom)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3013\" data-end=\"3066\">\n<p data-start=\"3015\" data-end=\"3066\"><strong data-start=\"3015\" data-end=\"3032\">Diego Vasquez<\/strong><em data-start=\"3034\" data-end=\"3056\">(One Hundred Years of Solitude<\/em>, Netflix).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3068\" data-end=\"3186\">His reaction said it all: when his name was heard, he stood up &#8220;jumping and hugging Giner&#8221;, excited and astonished. Pla had already been awarded by the Actors Union and the Feroz. data-end=\"4431\"><strong data-start=\"4365\" data-end=\"4374\">Chile<\/strong> lost the miniseries category with <em data-start=\"4412\" data-end=\"4428\">Vencer o Morir<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4432\" data-end=\"4521\">\n<p data-start=\"4434\" data-end=\"4521\">Colombian actor <strong data-start=\"4454\" data-end=\"4471\">Diego Vasquez<\/strong> was defeated in the category won by Oriol Pla.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4523\" data-end=\"4595\">In total, none of the Latin American nominations won a
