Ibiza and Formentera will be this Wednesday under yellow warning for waves<\/strong>, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet)<\/strong>, which warns of wind from the north and northwest of 50 to 60 km \/ h<\/strong> -corresponding to force 7- and waves of up to three meters<\/strong> on the coast of the Pitiusas. The episode will be active from midnight until 14.59 hours<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The warning in the Pitiusas coincides with a day marked by the activation of coastal phenomena and wind in nine provinces of the eastern peninsula and the Balearic Islands<\/strong>, where Menorca and Mallorca will have orange warning for waves due to a more intense maritime storm. Ibiza and Formentera, although with less severity, should exercise extreme caution in coastal areas, ports and maritime routes. <\/p>\n

The Aemet foresees for this Wednesday a situation of instability<\/strong> in the Balearic archipelago, with cloudy skies and showers<\/strong>, without ruling out storms with occasional hail<\/strong> in Menorca and Mallorca. In Ibiza and Formentera, the showers will be more isolated, but the north wind will blow with intensity throughout the morning, generating bad sea and possible effects on maritime operations. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the Peninsula will impose greater atmospheric stability due to the entry of high pressure from the west. However, there will be weak precipitation in the Cantabrian, high Ebro and Galicia, in addition to snowfall at heights of between 1,000 and 1,300 meters<\/g>, or even 600 to 800 meters<\/g> in the Pyrenees environment, where they can register outstanding accumulations. Frosts<\/strong> are also expected in large areas of the north. <\/p>\n

The wind, protagonist of the day, will blow from the north in much of the country and will be especially strong in the Balearic Islands, Pyrenees, Ampurd\u00e1n and lower Ebro<\/strong>, with gusts that can reach 80 km \/ h<\/strong> in some provinces of the northeastern peninsular. In the Canary Islands the moderate trade wind will remain. <\/p>\n

In view of this episode, the Aemet recommends extreme caution<\/strong> near the coast, avoid approaching breakwaters or promenades and follow the instructions of the emergency services, especially during the central hours of the morning, when the swell will reach its maximum values on the coasts of Ibiza and Formentera.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
