{"id":140822,"date":"2025-11-28T08:47:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T07:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/the-serious-accident-of-prohens-novice-driver-details-of-the-accident-that-destroyed-the-official-lexus\/"},"modified":"2025-11-28T08:57:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T07:57:11","slug":"the-serious-accident-of-prohens-novice-driver-details-of-the-accident-that-destroyed-the-official-lexus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/the-serious-accident-of-prohens-novice-driver-details-of-the-accident-that-destroyed-the-official-lexus\/","title":{"rendered":"The serious accident of Prohens&#8217; novice driver: details of the accident that destroyed the official Lexus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"1004\">An accident that occurred more than a year ago, in which the <strong data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"698\">official car of the president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, <\/strong>was involved, has now come to light after the filing of a complaint for alleged prevarication and influence peddling against a senior member of her team.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"1004\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/baleares-en\/prohens-links-attorney-generals-conviction-to-sanchez-model\/?swcfpc=1\">Prohens links Attorney General&#8217;s conviction to Sanchez model<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"1004\">The accident took place shortly after the president was dropped off at Palma airport, in the spring of 2024, and involved a novice official chauffeur.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1383\">The driver, a young man who had just joined the Presidency services, <strong data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1172\">lost control of the vehicle after going through a traffic circle with wet asphalt<\/strong>, as published this morning by <em>Diario de Mallorca<\/em>, and the car -a black Lexus- ended up<strong data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1255\"> severely damaged<\/strong>, with no other vehicles involved and no injuries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1383\">The president <strong data-start=\"1326\" data-end=\"1382\">was not on board at the time of the accident<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2535\" data-end=\"2590\">A Lexus with history<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2885\"><strong data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2714\">The damaged black Lexus was the same one used in the last legislature by former socialist minister Iago Negueruela<\/strong>, according to <em>Diario de Mallorca<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2885\">The vehicle had been purchased in 2019 by the Department of Labor, Trade and Industry for <strong data-start=\"2847\" data-end=\"2863\">\u20ac39,796<\/strong> including taxes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_140817\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-140817\" style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/el-accidente-grave-del-chofer-novel-de-prohens-los-detalles-del-siniestro-que-destruyo-el-lexus-oficial\/attachment\/lexus-oficial\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-140816\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-140816\" src=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/lEXUS-OFICIAL.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/lEXUS-OFICIAL.jpeg 730w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/lEXUS-OFICIAL-300x205.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-140817\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">One of the Lexus cars purchased in 2019.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"2887\" data-end=\"3146\">This mid-range car has been the subject of political controversy in other administrations. In fact, <strong data-start=\"2989\" data-end=\"3090\">Palma City Council was criticized this year for acquiring a 61,000 euro Lexus for the mayor&#8217;s office<\/strong>, an operation that sparked criticism from the opposition. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1509\" data-end=\"1566\">The accident, a key piece in a judicial complaint<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1568\" data-end=\"1872\">The information about the incident was not made public at the time.
