The weekend will bring a remarkable change in the weather in Spain and also in the Balearic Islands. According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the rains will return with varying intensity to different areas of the country and the drop in temperatures will leave widespread frost in the interior of the peninsula. <\/p>\n

AEMET spokesman, Ruben del Campo<\/strong>, explained that this Friday<\/strong> will be a stable day, with little cloudy skies except for some light rain in Galicia and the Pyrenees. The maximum temperatures will rise to 18-20 \u00ba C<\/strong> in areas of the Mediterranean and Andalusia, and morning fog banks will form that will dissipate at noon. <\/p>\n

The situation will begin to change on Saturday<\/strong>, when an Atlantic front will increase cloudiness and leave precipitation in Galicia, Cantabrian, Navarra, La Rioja and Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, which could spread to Extremadura and part of the central area. Despite this, it will not rain yet in the Balearic Islands or on the Mediterranean coast<\/g>, where stability will remain for another day. The early morning will leave light frosts in the northern and central areas of the Peninsula, with values between 0 and -2 \u00baC<\/strong>, and dense fog that could hinder circulation. <\/p>\n

The moment of greatest instability will come on Sunday<\/strong>, when the front will advance eastward and leave showers and thunderstorms<\/strong> throughout the Mediterranean arc and the Balearic Islands<\/strong>, where rainfall may be locally heavy<\/strong>. In the northern mountains the snow will fall to 1,000 meters<\/g>, standing at around 1,600 meters<\/g> in the southeastern mountains. Maximum temperatures will drop slightly due to increased cloudiness, although extreme cold is not expected. <\/p>\n

On Monday<\/strong>, once the front passes, stability will return, but the nighttime cold will also intensify. Frosts will spread and will be more intense, dropping to -4 \u00baC<\/strong> in the interior of the north, center and east of the peninsula; Madrid could register -2 \u00baC<\/strong>. Showers will only affect Galicia and nearby areas, accompanied by new morning fog banks. <\/p>\n

From Tuesday<\/strong>, new squalls will return to leave rains, especially in the western half of the peninsula and Galicia<\/strong>, where they could be strong. It will snow in northern mountains and, although the Mediterranean will be on the sidelines on Tuesday, it could receive precipitation in later days. Temperatures will rise slightly on Tuesday, but will drop again for the rest of the week. <\/p>\n

In the Canary Islands<\/strong>, the trade winds will persist, which will accumulate clouds on the northern slope and could leave drizzle. Calima<\/strong> is not ruled out in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
