This indicator places the island in a scenario of <strong data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1333\">care consolidation<\/strong>, especially relevant to the commemoration of <strong data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1409\">World AIDS Day<\/strong>, this Monday. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/pelvic-floor-physiotherapy-the-great-ally-after-surgery-and-in-womens-health\/?swcfpc=1\">Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, the great ally after surgery and in women&#8217;s health<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1906\">&#8220;<strong data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1676\">Being undetectable is of great importance, both on a personal level, because treatment turns what was a fatal disease into a controlled chronic condition, and on a collective level, because if the person is undetectable, he or she does not transmit the infection,&#8221;<\/strong> explains Dr. Garc\u00eda Almod\u00f3var from the HIV Unit of the Can Misses Hospital. <strong data-start=\"1762\" data-end=\"1779\">Prevention<\/strong>, she adds, cannot remain in the background: <strong data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1905\">&#8220;In addition to early diagnosis and treatment, prevention is fundamental&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"1977\">Clinical monitoring: 791 patients and continued increase in follow-up<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1978\" data-end=\"2514\">The Health Area has registered a <strong data-start=\"2012\" data-end=\"2036\">4.3% growth<\/strong> in the number of people under treatment compared to last year, from 758 to <strong data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2142\">791 users in 2025<\/strong>, according to official information from the Ibizan public hospital. <strong data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2262\">This increase is part of a sustained trend<\/strong>, driven by therapeutic advances that reduce mortality and make it possible to maintain a stable follow-up. <strong data-start=\"2375\" data-end=\"2402\">The Pharmacy Service<\/strong> will serve 715 people in 2023, 692 in 2022, 620 in 2021, and 637 in 2020, according to internal records.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/more-children-vaccinated-than-ever-in-ibiza-and-formentera\/?swcfpc=1\">More children vaccinated than ever in Ibiza and Formentera<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"2516\" data-end=\"2588\">New diagnoses: slight decrease but increased access to treatment<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2589\" data-end=\"3221\">The <strong data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2645\">Microbiology Service of the Hospital Can Misses<\/strong> confirmed <strong data-start=\"2660\" data-end=\"2693\">38 new HIV diagnoses<\/strong> in 2025, compared to 39 the previous year, a <strong data-start=\"2754\" data-end=\"2775\">decrease of 2.5%<\/strong>. However, the most significant variation is not in the number of cases, but in the healthcare response: <strong data-start=\"2886\" data-end=\"2978\">32 of the people diagnosed this year went for consultation to start treatment<\/strong>, much higher than the 17 recorded in 2024. <strong data-start=\"3028\" data-end=\"3072\">The increase in treatment initiations<\/strong> reinforces early diagnosis and early intervention, considered by specialists to be the most effective strategy to curb transmission. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3223\" data-end=\"3281\">No waiting list and growing demand for PrEP<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3282\" data-end=\"3807\">The <strong data-start=\"3285\" data-end=\"3302\">PrEP clinic<\/strong>, aimed at people at risk of contracting HIV, <strong data-start=\"3355\" data-end=\"3393\">provides prophylaxis to 174 users<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3396\" data-end=\"3424\">has no waiting list<\/strong>, despite having started its activity with a capacity for 50 people. This increase reflects the progressive integration of <g id=\"gid_3\">pre-exposure prophylaxis<\/g> in HIV prevention in Ibiza. The service works in coordination with specialists in Internal Medicine, Hospital Pharmacy and Nursing, and is part of the health care resources of the Health Area.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3809\" data-end=\"3859\">CAITS, Pharmacy and a multidisciplinary unit<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3860\" data-end=\"4421\">The approach to HIV on the island is supported by a health structure that includes the <strong data-start=\"3943\" data-end=\"3960\">HIV Unit<\/strong>, made up of specialists in Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Microbiology and Nursing, in addition to the <strong data-start=\"4066\" data-end=\"4090\">Pharmacy Clinic<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"4096\" data-end=\"4168\">Sexually Transmitted Infection Care Clinic (CAITS)<\/strong>, which offers care by appointment from Monday to Friday. According to the Health Area, the <strong data-start=\"4255\" data-end=\"4280\">epidemiological profile<\/strong> of the new diagnoses has not changed in recent years: <strong data-start=\"4343\" data-end=\"4385\">men who have sex with men<\/strong>, aged between <strong data-start=\"4404\" data-end=\"4420\">35 and 40<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4423\" data-end=\"4472\">World AIDS Day information table<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4473\" data-end=\"5003\">On the occasion of <strong data-start=\"4488\" data-end=\"4512\">World AIDS Day<\/strong>, the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera will set up an <strong data-start=\"4568\" data-end=\"4588\">information table<\/strong> tomorrow at the main entrance of Building D of the Can Misses Hospital, in collaboration with <strong data-start=\"4680\" data-end=\"4704\">La llave del armario<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"4707\" data-end=\"4720\">Red Cross<\/strong>.
