The capital of Ibiza and Formentera is currently facing an unprecedented transformation in sports. The Eivissa Town Council<\/strong> has launched an investment of more than 8 million euros to renovate and expand municipal facilities, with the aim of improving sports practice, strengthening the offer for residents and visitors and providing the city with modern, accessible and sustainable equipment. <\/p>\n

The four projects already underway will be completed in 2026 and represent a decisive step in the consolidation of Ibiza as a city committed to physical activity, healthy leisure and the promotion of sport in all its disciplines.<\/p>\n

New tennis courts at Can Misses: sustainability and growth<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The future Can Misses<\/strong> tennis complex will occupy an area of 5,084.90 m\u00b2<\/strong> and will incorporate three new clay courts that will respond to the growing demand for this sport in the municipality. The 1.3 million euro<\/strong> investment will create a completely renovated space with bleachers, changing rooms, a mini-tennis court, club offices, storerooms, a machine room and public bathrooms<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The design is committed to landscape integration and sustainability, using environmentally friendly materials and energy efficiency systems that will reduce CO\u2082 emissions and the visual impact of the complex.<\/p>\n

Es Putxet: the field that will bring rugby back to Ibiza<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With a budget of 3.9 million euros<\/strong>, the new Es Putxet<\/strong> field will be one of the most versatile sports facilities on the island. The 113 x 72 meter<\/strong> artificial turf pitch will be prepared to host 11-a-side soccer, 7-a-side soccer and rugby<\/strong>, thus recovering a discipline that had been lacking its own space in the city for years. <\/p>\n

The facility will comply with the approvals of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF)<\/strong> and the Royal Spanish Rugby Federation (RFER)<\/strong> and will include a physiotherapy room, men’s and women’s locker rooms, referee’s locker rooms, offices, storage and public toilets<\/strong>. It will also have an eight-row grandstand<\/strong> with a capacity for 986 spectators<\/strong>, ideal for official matches and local tournaments. <\/p>\n

A new sports center in Figueretes: more space for more sports<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Figueretes<\/strong> neighborhood will inaugurate a 2,751 m\u00b2 sports center<\/strong> in 2026, the result of an investment of 2.7 million euros<\/strong>. This is a strategic facility for grassroots sports, with the capacity to meet the growing demand from clubs, schools and municipal activities. <\/p>\n

The pavilion will house three transversal basketball courts, a longitudinal court, a futsal court, three volleyball courts<\/strong>, as well as changing rooms, adapted changing rooms, a gymnasium, an infirmary, a storage area and an access control area.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bleachers<\/strong> will make it possible to receive the public for federation competitions, which can be held thanks to the improved lighting and the regulatory height of the space.<\/p>\n

Platja d’en Bossa renovates its sports court and improves security<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The complete renovation of the Platja d’en Bossa<\/strong> sports court, at a cost of 86,265 euros<\/strong>, responds to a historical demand of the neighbors and represents a significant improvement in safety and efficiency. The project, promoted by the Town Council of Eivissa and Red El\u00e9ctrica Espa\u00f1ola<\/strong>, includes the complete replacement of the artificial turf<\/strong>, the renovation of the pavement, the repair of the perimeter enclosure and the installation of new lights capable of reducing energy consumption by up to 60%<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

It is also planned to remove obstacles and replace the old concrete benches with polyethylene models, a measure that will increase the safety of users and reduce the risk of injury during games and training sessions.<\/p>\n

With these actions, Ibiza takes a decisive step towards a more active, healthy and cohesive future. The modernization of its facilities not only improves the practice of sports, but also strengthens the social fabric of the municipality, promotes grassroots sports and expands opportunities for all citizens. <\/p>\n
