FC Barcelona midfield star and triple Ballon d’Or winner, Aitana Bonmat\u00ed<\/b>, has issued an emotional statement through her social networks after undergoing successful surgery for the fracture of her left fibula<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The surgery was performed at Barcelona Hospital, and although the player faces an estimated five-month recovery period, it was her personal message, beyond the injury, that moved her followers.<\/p>\n

Severe injury and the reality of the sport<\/h3>\n

Aitana began her message by acknowledging the “other side of sport,” acknowledging that her fracture, suffered last Sunday, forces her to begin a new challenge off the field. “The operation went well and now it’s time to regenerate myself physically and mentally,” said the midfielder. <\/p>\n
