In its statement, the group regretted that such headlines directly harm businesses, hotels and families in the area, so they ask the Consistory &#8220;a clear institutional support&#8221; and the dissemination of <strong data-start=\"1629\" data-end=\"1661\">objective security data<\/strong> to refute that image. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1768\">\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/ibiza-businessmen-warn-cala-de-bou-is-on-its-way-to-becoming-a-ghost-town\/\">Ibiza businessmen warn: Cala de Bou is on its way to becoming a &#8220;ghost town&#8221;.<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"1818\"><strong data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1818\">They claim to preserve the brand &#8220;Cala de Bou&#8221;.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2385\">Bah\u00eda Negocis recalled that for years administrations, businesses and residents have worked to consolidate the tourist brand &#8220;Cala de Bou&#8221;, and that &#8220;<strong data-start=\"1970\" data-end=\"2010\">all that effort is compromised<\/strong>&#8221; when expressions are used that associate the neighborhood with crime. According to the association, the official denomination has made it possible to &#8220;differentiate&#8221; the area and build an identity of its own, a process that -they stress- cannot be &#8220;undermined by headlines that put impact before informative rigor&#8221;. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2452\"><strong data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2452\">No data indicating an increase in the number of robberies, they say<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2454\" data-end=\"2971\">The business collective stated that &#8220;<strong data-start=\"2492\" data-end=\"2527\">there is no data to prove<\/strong>&#8221; that Cala de Bou suffers more robberies or thefts than other parts of Ibiza. &#8220;Incidents of insecurity occur in different areas of the island and are not an exclusive problem or especially aggravated in our bay,&#8221; they point out. In this sense, they consider that generating social alarm &#8220;only fragments the community&#8221; and harms residents and economic activity.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2973\" data-end=\"3036\"><strong data-start=\"2976\" data-end=\"3036\">A &#8220;quiet, family-oriented area in the midst of transformation&#8221;.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3038\" data-end=\"3552\">The association defended that Cala de Bou is an area &#8220;<strong data-start=\"3089\" data-end=\"3112\">in constant improvement<\/strong>&#8220;, with significant private investments in business renovation that have sought to raise the quality of supply. According to Bahia Negocis, these transformations have consolidated an economic fabric &#8220;capable of serving residents and visitors all year round&#8221;, which, in its opinion, &#8220;does not correspond to the image disseminated in the article in question&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3038\" data-end=\"3552\"><strong data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"877\">A message that seems to contrast with the one that <a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/ibiza-businessmen-warn-cala-de-bou-is-on-its-way-to-becoming-a-ghost-town\/\">the association itself transmitted two weeks ago<\/a><\/strong>, when it warned that the area could become a <strong data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"954\">&#8220;ghost town&#8221;<\/strong> if urgent urban development actions were not carried out before the 2026 season. On that occasion they denounced closures of businesses and an &#8220;obsolete&#8221; urban environment (although they did not speak of insecurity specifically). <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3554\" data-end=\"3610\"><strong data-start=\"3557\" data-end=\"3610\">They demand a public position from the City Council<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3612\" data-end=\"3673\">The entity requests two specific actions from the City Council:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"3674\" data-end=\"3842\">\n<li data-start=\"3674\" data-end=\"3751\">\n<p data-start=\"3677\" data-end=\"3751\"><strong data-start=\"3677\" data-end=\"3702\">An official communiqu\u00e9<\/strong> with real data on safety in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3752\" data-end=\"3842\">\n<p data-start=\"3755\" data-end=\"3842\"><strong data-start=\"3755\" data-end=\"3778\">A public endorsement<\/strong> of the image of Cala de Bou as a safe and prosperous environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"3844\" data-end=\"4193\">The collective made an &#8220;<strong data-start=\"3866\" data-end=\"3914\">appeal to informative responsibility<\/strong>&#8221; to protect both economic activity and neighborhood pride.
