{"id":144528,"date":"2025-12-13T12:49:05","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T11:49:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/ibiza-comes-out-of-drought-alert-after-reaching-47-of-water-reserves-in-november\/"},"modified":"2025-12-13T12:49:05","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T11:49:05","slug":"ibiza-comes-out-of-drought-alert-after-reaching-47-of-water-reserves-in-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/ibiza-comes-out-of-drought-alert-after-reaching-47-of-water-reserves-in-november\/","title":{"rendered":"Ibiza comes out of drought alert after reaching 47% of water reserves in November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"1139\"><strong data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"880\">Ibiza has left the water alert situation by reaching 47% of its reserves during the month of November<\/strong>, as reported by the <strong data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"948\">Conselleria del Mar y del Ciclo del Agua<\/strong> of the Balearic Government. <strong data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"982\">Formentera<\/strong>, on the other hand, is the only <strong data-start=\"1007\" data-end=\"1033\">demand unit (DU)<\/strong> of the archipelago that has registered a slight decrease, although it remains in a <strong data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1138\">normal<\/strong> situation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1146\" data-end=\"1185\">Generalized increase in the Pitiusas<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1471\">Water reserves in Ibiza <strong data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1274\">have increased eight points compared to October<\/strong>, when they stood at 39%. This increase has allowed the island to move from an alert to a <strong data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1400\">pre-alert<\/strong> scenario, according to the latest water situation report published by the Govern. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1816\">In the case of Formentera, the UD remains as the only area of the archipelago in a <strong data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1580\">state of normality<\/strong>, despite having experienced a drop in its reserves. According to the same report, 16.7% of the Balearic territory is currently in normal conditions, while 67.1% is in pre-alert and 16.2% is still in an alert situation. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1961\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.5em; font-weight: bold;\">Dry October in the Pitiusas: 37 l\/m\u00b2 in Ibiza and 19 l\/m\u00b2 in Formentera.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2340\">Data from the <strong data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2103\">State Meteorological Agency (Aemet)<\/strong> show that <strong data-start=\"2117\" data-end=\"2186\">Ibiza and Formentera have had a dry or very dry November<\/strong>, respectively. In Ibiza only <strong data-start=\"2235\" data-end=\"2267\">37 liters per square meter<\/strong> were collected, while in Formentera the figure was even lower, with <strong data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2339\">19 l\/m\u00b2<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2342\" data-end=\"2558\">Despite this scarcity of rainfall, the <strong data-start=\"2377\" data-end=\"2419\">percentage of interannual precipitation<\/strong> in the Pitiusas remains high, with <strong data-start=\"2461\" data-end=\"2498\">130% compared to the usual average<\/strong>, which has favored the improvement of the accumulated reserves.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2565\" data-end=\"2623\">Improved water index, but worse than a year ago<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2625\" data-end=\"2871\">The <strong data-start=\"2628\" data-end=\"2676\">overall index for the River Basin District<\/strong> currently stands at <strong data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2710\">0.396<\/strong>, a figure <strong data-start=\"2722\" data-end=\"2779\">lower than that recorded in November 2023 (0.495)<\/strong> and also lower than that of 2022 (0.454), but an <strong data-start=\"2831\" data-end=\"2870\">improvement compared to previous months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2873\" data-end=\"3114\">In Ibiza, the change of status to <strong data-start=\"2905\" data-end=\"2918\">pre-alert<\/strong> is a positive sign in the midst of a year marked by irregular rainfall.
