In this context, during the last quarter there has been a <strong data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"459\">notable increase in the sale of face masks<\/strong> in the Balearic Islands, especially as a preventive measure against respiratory infections typical of this time of the year. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"183\" data-end=\"579\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/society\/the-k-variant-of-the-flu-is-ahead-of-christmas-these-are-the-10-symptoms-you-should-know-about-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The K variant of the flu is ahead of Christmas: these are the 10 symptoms you should know about now<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"1059\">According to the latest official data from the <strong data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"645\">Ministry of Health<\/strong>, Ibiza is currently the island with the highest incidence of influenza, with <strong data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"754\">103.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants<\/strong>. At the opposite extreme is <strong data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"801\">Formentera<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"867\">25.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants<\/strong>, a significant difference within the archipelago. In the Balearic Islands as a whole, the incidence stands at 75 cases, which keeps the community in an epidemic phase of low intensity, according to <em>Peri\u00f3dico de Ibiza<\/em>.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1437\">The <strong data-start=\"1070\" data-end=\"1126\">Official College of Pharmacists of the Balearic Islands (COFIB)<\/strong> confirmed to this newspaper that the <strong data-start=\"1146\" data-end=\"1237\">distribution of masks in pharmacies has tripled in the last three months<\/strong>. After falling in the following months, sales have picked up again slightly in the last month, with no supply problems in pharmacies. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1843\" data-end=\"2271\">With the current situation, the Balearic Islands remains in <strong data-start=\"1895\" data-end=\"1987\">stage I of the Protocol of Recommendations for the Control of Infectious Diseases<\/strong>, which includes measures such as the use of masks in case of respiratory symptoms or in vulnerable or crowded environments.
