{"id":147058,"date":"2025-12-24T18:00:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T17:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/abalos-from-prison-launches-a-message-i-will-not-only-be-remembered\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T18:00:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T17:00:17","slug":"abalos-from-prison-launches-a-message-i-will-not-only-be-remembered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/abalos-from-prison-launches-a-message-i-will-not-only-be-remembered\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00c1balos, from prison, launches a message: &#8220;I will not only be remembered&#8221;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"239\" data-end=\"680\">The former Socialist minister <strong data-start=\"293\" data-end=\"313\">Jos\u00e9 Luis \u00c1balos<\/strong>, currently in provisional prison in the framework of the so-called <strong data-start=\"377\" data-end=\"393\">&#8216;Koldo case&#8217;,<\/strong> has denied that there was <strong data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"453\">illegal financing in the PSOE<\/strong>, &#8220;at least&#8221; during his time as <strong data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"518\">secretary of Organization<\/strong>, and has assured that <strong data-start=\"539\" data-end=\"564\">he has no evidence<\/strong> of &#8220;criminal acts or illicit activities&#8221; that could compromise the president of the Government, <strong data-start=\"662\" data-end=\"679\">Pedro S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"239\" data-end=\"680\">\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/abalos-asks-the-supreme-court-to-be-tried-by-a-popular-jury-in-the-masks-case\/?swcfpc=1\">\u00c1balos asks the Supreme Court to be tried by a popular jury in the masks case<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"1124\">So he says in a <strong data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"729\">written interview<\/strong> broadcast Wednesday by the program <strong data-start=\"771\" data-end=\"790\">&#8216;Ma\u00f1aneros 360&#8217;<\/strong> of TVE and collected by Europa Press, in which \u00c1balos also addresses his coexistence in prison with his former adviser <strong data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"917\">Koldo Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, with whom he shares a cell in the penitentiary center of <strong data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"991\">Soto del Real<\/strong>. &#8220;It&#8217;s good,&#8221; he maintains, although he admits that they have had to &#8220;learn to live together&#8221; in a reduced space for which &#8220;no one is made&#8221;. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1164\">&#8220;To abscond is completely absurd.&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1536\">Asked if he has considered fleeing, \u00c1balos has flatly rejected it, calling that option &#8220;completely absurd&#8221;. He has defended that he has &#8220;all possible roots&#8221; in Spain and added that he is the father of a minor son, so, he says, he must fulfill his parental obligations and the payment of the pension. &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t make any sense,&#8221; he insisted.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1572\">Criticizes the withdrawal of his certificate<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1573\" data-end=\"1994\">The former minister has stated that his entry into prison responds to an attempt to &#8220;eliminate a man and a politician&#8221; and has denounced that he is deprived of representing in Congress those who voted for him. He has also charged against the &#8220;haste&#8221; of the Bureau of Congress in the proceedings to withdraw his status as a deputy and has argued that it should have waited for the resolution of his appeal against his imprisonment. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2046\" data-end=\"2324\">In the interview, \u00c1balos assures that <strong data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2115\">he does not recognize himself in the audios<\/strong> that, according to the investigation, Koldo Garc\u00eda would have recorded him. &#8220;I do not recognize my voice,&#8221; he says, adding that this question will be settled in the trial. He also confirms that he will request the <strong data-start=\"2297\" data-end=\"2323\">nullity of the evidence<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2326\" data-end=\"2384\">Denies the million euros and qualifies the UCO report<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2385\" data-end=\"2838\">The former minister has denied that the alleged &#8216;hydrocarbon plot&#8217; paid him <strong data-start=\"2460\" data-end=\"2482\">a million euros in<\/strong> exchange for favors, as stated in a report of the <strong data-start=\"2533\" data-end=\"2540\">UCO<\/strong>.
