The Guardia Civil warns of a risk that many drivers are unaware of. <\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"1263\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/society\/dgt-prepares-a-silent-change-on-the-road-this-is-how-the-v-27-beacon-the-virtual-triangle-that-will-be-installed-in-cars-will-work\/?swcfpc=1\">DGT prepares a silent change on the road: this is how the V-27 beacon, the &#8216;virtual triangle&#8217; that will be installed in cars, will work<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1267\" data-end=\"1461\">&#8220;We are faced with a blank penal norm, where it refers to a regulation to define the infraction and its sanction,&#8221; they argue in the legal text, to which has had access. <a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/\"><strong>La Voz de Ibiza.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1933\">The appeal document is not filed on a preventive basis. <strong data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1647\">It can<\/strong> only <strong data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1647\">be used once the penalty has been notified<\/strong> by the Direcci\u00f3n General de Tr\u00e1fico (DGT), within the legal time limit for allegations. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1933\">According to Polic\u00edas por la Libertad, any fined citizen can download the document and present it to <strong data-start=\"1845\" data-end=\"1895\">demand the annulment of the sanctioning file<\/strong>, based on legal grounds.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"169\" data-end=\"728\">The text criticizes the mandatory imposition of the V-16 geolocatable beacon as arbitrary. It states that the device transmits data in an automated manner, which <strong data-start=\"333\" data-end=\"409\">&#8220;violates the right to privacy and the protection of personal data&#8221;.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"169\" data-end=\"728\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/el-recurso-viral-para-evitar-sanciones-por-la-baliza-v-16-norma-penal-en-blanco-discriminacion-e-ineficiencia\/attachment\/documento-de-alegaciones-sobre-la-v16-geolocalizable\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-146597\">Document of allegations against the V16 geo-localizable beacon<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"169\" data-end=\"728\">The appeal underlines that <strong data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"522\">&#8220;the activation of the beacon sends information directly and involuntarily&#8221;,<\/strong> without there being <strong data-start=\"539\" data-end=\"580\">&#8220;prior information of the affected party&#8221;<\/strong> or any record of &#8220;the name and position of the person responsible and in charge of the processing of the data issued&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2259\" data-end=\"2301\">Why does the DGT force the use of the V-16?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2730\">The Directorate General of Traffic has justified the measure on the grounds of safety: <strong data-start=\"2384\" data-end=\"2492\">about twenty people a year are killed after getting out of the car to place the triangles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2730\">The V-16 allows to signal danger by simply lowering the window and placing it on the roof of the vehicle. Its light, visible up to one kilometer and at 360 degrees, even in rain or fog, improves visibility compared to the classic system. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2730\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/society\/dgt-prepares-new-invisible-road-warning-while-v16-still-raises-doubts\/?swcfpc=1\">DGT prepares new invisible road warning while V16 beacons still raise doubts<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2732\" data-end=\"3036\">But the technological change is not only in the light: the V-16 <strong data-start=\"2791\" data-end=\"2872\">transmits the vehicle&#8217;s location in real time to the DGT servers.<\/strong> This allows other drivers to be alerted via panels and apps. The information is sent automatically every 100 seconds until the device is deactivated.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3040\" data-end=\"3221\">&#8220;A system with data transmission without informed consent of the user is imposed, contrary to the provisions of the data protection legislation,&#8221; the association alleges.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3228\" data-end=\"3274\">Criticism for inequality and lack of access<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3276\" data-end=\"3578\">Another focus of the appeal is the <strong data-start=\"3311\" data-end=\"3358\">unequal access to the connected beacon<\/strong>. The device has an economic and technical cost that is not affordable for all citizens. In fact, according to a Coyote study, <strong data-start=\"3487\" data-end=\"3539\">80% of drivers have not yet acquired it<\/strong>, even though the deadline is approaching.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1687\" data-end=\"2223\">Another of the arguments presented in the appeal is the <strong data-start=\"1742\" data-end=\"1810\">discrimination that the measure entails for certain groups<\/strong>. The document points out that <strong data-start=\"1834\" data-end=\"1901\">foreign vehicles are not obliged to carry the beacon<\/strong>, while nationals are, which in their opinion violates Article 14 of the Spanish Constitution. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1687\" data-end=\"2223\">It also warns that <strong data-start=\"2031\" data-end=\"2151\">the geolocatable device could stop working over time due to battery depletion<\/strong>, becoming a &#8220;death trap&#8221; if not replaced in time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1687\" data-end=\"2223\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/what-is-the-risk-of-v16-beacons-and-how-does-it-affect-driver-safety\/?swcfpc=1\">What is the risk of V16 beacons and how does it affect driver safety?<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3962\" data-end=\"4105\">The appeal also questions the <strong data-start=\"1570\" data-end=\"1620\">technical and legal legitimacy of the measure<\/strong>. It requests that the Ministry of the Interior incorporate into the sanctioning file the <strong data-start=\"1702\" data-end=\"1796\">technical and scientific reports that justified the elaboration of Royal Decree 1030\/2022<\/strong>, in order to demonstrate that the measure is &#8220;necessary, effective, proportional, non-discriminatory, and that there is no better or less restrictive alternative&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3962\" data-end=\"4105\">He also states that this is an &#8220;experiment&#8221; in which <strong data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1065\">&#8220;Spanish citizens are the guinea pigs&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3962\" data-end=\"4105\">In this sense, he remarks that &#8220;the V16 geolocatable beacon <strong>is not regulated in any other country in the world<\/strong>, clear proof that this is an experiment in which Spanish citizens are the guinea pigs. The Spanish vehicle driving in any other country must carry the traditional and inveterate triangles, or risk being sanctioned. However, the foreign vehicle circulating in Spain is not obliged to carry this fraudulent device, creating a discrimination, proscribed by art 14 of the Constitution&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"410\">Who are Cops for Freedom<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"811\"><strong data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"440\">Polic\u00edas por la Libertad<\/strong> is a non-profit association registered on April 15, 2021 in the National Registry of Associations under number 622015. According to its own presentation, it is made up of <strong data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"680\">members of different state security forces<\/strong>, such as the National Police, Civil Guard, Mossos d&#8217;Esquadra, Ertzaintza, Port Police, firefighters, military and also citizens. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_146604\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-146604\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/el-recurso-viral-para-evitar-sanciones-por-la-baliza-v-16-norma-penal-en-blanco-discriminacion-e-ineficiencia\/attachment\/policias-por-la-libertad\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-146603\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-146603\" src=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Policias-por-la-Libertad.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Policias-por-la-Libertad.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Policias-por-la-Libertad-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Policias-por-la-Libertad-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-146604\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cops for Freedom was created as a denialist movement to the Covid pandemic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"1297\">The organization emerged in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a <strong data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"951\">critical response to the restrictions imposed by the government<\/strong>. Since then, it has openly questioned institutional decisions on public health, data protection, technological control and individual freedoms. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"1297\">In their manifesto, they denounce that the State uses legislation to restrict fundamental rights and <strong data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1296\">&#8220;control the population through fear and social division&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"1297\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/v16-beacons-these-are-the-models-homologated-by-the-dgt-dgt\/?swcfpc=1\">V16 beacons: these are the models homologated by the DGT (DGT)<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1512\">&#8220;We are committed to protecting the people, upholding truth, justice and freedoms, guided by the principles we as police officers swore to uphold in order to serve the people,&#8221; they state on their website.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1514\" data-end=\"1801\">The association has denounced having suffered <strong data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1645\">media discrediting, censorship in social networks, hacks and disciplinary sanctions<\/strong> against some of its members. They accuse the political and media power of trying to silence their messages because they consider them uncomfortable for the established system. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1803\" data-end=\"2301\">Since its foundation, it has promoted legal appeals, demonstrations and information campaigns. One of its visible leaders is the <strong data-start=\"1929\" data-end=\"1981\">Valencian local policeman Juan Manuel Ramos Mateo<\/strong>, who has disseminated messages on social networks questioning vaccination, gender policies and the mandatory use of masks. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1803\" data-end=\"2301\">In public statements, he has gone so far as to compare the management of the pandemic to the <strong data-start=\"2209\" data-end=\"2233\">Nuremberg trials<\/strong>, saying, &#8220;They are injecting us with something we don&#8217;t know what it is.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2565\">Currently, Polic\u00edas por la Libertad maintains a <strong data-start=\"2359\" data-end=\"2439\">line of active opposition to what they consider arbitrary measures of the State<\/strong>, such as the implementation of the connected V-16 beacon, promoting models of appeal to challenge sanctions for not using it.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2303\"
