Cala de Bou is getting ready to live an event full of emotion, memory and sense of belonging. Next Sunday, January 4, 2026<\/strong>, at 5 pm<\/strong>, the Auditori des Cal\u00f3 de s’Oli<\/strong> will host the premiere of “Echoes of Cala de Bou”,<\/strong> a documentary that focuses on the social and cultural fabric of this enclave of the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The projection, open to all citizens and framed in the program of the Christmas holidays<\/strong>, proposes a close tour of the people and groups that, day by day, build community in a neighborhood marked by the balance between island tradition and modern tourism.<\/p>\n

A tour of the entities that give life to the neighborhood<\/h2>\n

Through direct testimonies and everyday scenes, the documentary offers an intimate look at the most active associations in Cala de Bou. Among them, the Neighborhood Association<\/strong>, headed by Joan Ramon<\/strong>, which promotes unique initiatives such as the African dance classes of the artist Rebekah<\/strong>, a reflection of the cultural diversity of the neighborhood. <\/p>\n

Also occupies a prominent place the Women’s Association of Cala de Bou<\/strong>, recognized as the oldest of the Pitiusas, a symbol of commitment and historical continuity. Next to it, the Petanque Club<\/strong>, promoted by Pepe Caballero<\/strong>, shows how sport and coexistence go hand in hand in the daily life of the neighborhood. <\/p>\n

Inclusion, culture and meeting spaces<\/h2>\n

The film devotes special attention to projects that promote integration and access to culture. This is the case of the inclusive association Ibiza In<\/strong>, led by Consuelo Guerra<\/strong>, as well as the Library of Cala de Bou<\/strong>, directed by Anna Labernia<\/strong> with the support of David Ribas<\/strong>, a space that has established itself as a cultural and social reference point for residents of all ages. <\/p>\n

The cultural aspect is completed with the Great River Road Cultural Association<\/strong>, represented by Paco Bobberman<\/strong> and Joan F. Ribas<\/strong>, and with the Bah\u00eda de San Agust\u00edn Sports Club<\/strong>, presented by Gabino Canales<\/strong>, which highlights the role of sports as an engine of social cohesion.<\/p>\n

Memory, elders and sense of belonging<\/h2>\n

The documentary also includes the voice of those who have witnessed the evolution of the neighborhood over time. The Association of the Elderly of Cala de Bou and es Port d’es Torrent<\/strong>, represented by Cristina Zaragoza<\/strong>, provides a view full of experience, memory and shared values, fundamental to understand the identity of the place. <\/p>\n

An emotional portrait with a local stamp<\/h2>\n

With original music by Edu Mayol<\/strong>, editing and voice-over by Agust\u00edn Prades<\/strong> and direction by Ramon Mayol<\/strong>, “Ecos de Cala de Bou” transcends the documentary format to become an emotional portrait of a lively, diverse and constantly changing neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The premiere is presented as an opportunity to meet, recognize and celebrate<\/strong> the work of the entities that sustain community life. A close and inspiring event, designed both for the residents of Cala de Bou and Sant Josep and for visitors interested in knowing the most authentic Ibiza. <\/p>\n

Because Cala de Bou is not only lived: it is listened to, shared and built by all<\/strong>. And this documentary is precisely the proof. <\/p>\n
