This is established in Royal Decree-Law 16\/2025, published in the <strong>Official State Gazette (BOE)<\/strong>, which confirms that this benefit will not be extinguished, but neither will it admit new applications. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"1138\">The allowance is maintained only for families who were already entitled to assistance before the <strong>Minimum Vital Income (IMV)<\/strong> came into force and who have not been entitled to it for the same minor. The aim of this continuity is to prevent certain households from being left unprotected following the reform of the family benefit system, while consolidating the MVI as a central pillar of social policy. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1431\"><strong data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1178\">How much will be charged per child in 2026?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1431\">The BOE clearly establishes the amounts to be paid during the next fiscal year. In general terms, the aid per child under 18 years of age will be <strong data-start=\"1333\" data-end=\"1354\">588 euros per year<\/strong>, which is equivalent to about <strong data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1398\">49 euros per month<\/strong>, distributed in periodic payments. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/fewer-sales-prices-at-record-highs-and-more-mortgages-this-is-how-october-was-for-housing-in-the-balearic-islands\/?swcfpc=1\">Fewer sales, prices at record highs and more mortgages: this is how October was for housing in the Balearic Islands<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1433\" data-end=\"1728\">For families with particularly low incomes, the amount is increased to <strong data-start=\"1516\" data-end=\"1539\">\u20ac637.92 per year<\/strong>, i.e. just over <strong data-start=\"1563\" data-end=\"1585\">\u20ac53 per month<\/strong>. This reinforced tranche seeks to offer a small additional cushion to households with greater economic difficulties within the old regime. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1730\" data-end=\"2180\">In the case of <strong>disabled children<\/strong>, the amounts recognized are higher. Families with children with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% can receive amounts of up to <strong data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"1966\">1,000 euros per year<\/strong>, always within the established limits. In addition, when there is severe dependency or a very high degree of disability, specific complements are contemplated to cover the higher associated expenses.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2182\" data-end=\"2464\"><strong data-start=\"2182\" data-end=\"2232\">Who will retain the right to the benefit<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2182\" data-end=\"2464\">One of the most relevant aspects of the legal framework is that <strong data-start=\"2293\" data-end=\"2325\">no new registrations will be admitted<\/strong>. The child allowance is closed to new beneficiaries and will only be maintained for those who strictly meet the established criteria. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2466\" data-end=\"2497\">They will retain the right in 2026:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2498\" data-end=\"2767\">\n<li data-start=\"2498\" data-end=\"2572\">\n<p data-start=\"2500\" data-end=\"2572\">Households that were already receiving assistance prior to the implementation of the IMV.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2573\" data-end=\"2663\">\n<p data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2663\">Families that have not received the Minimum Living Income for the same child.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2664\" data-end=\"2767\">\n<p data-start=\"2666\" data-end=\"2767\">Those who maintain legal residence in Spain and effectively cohabit with the dependent child or minor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2769\" data-end=\"2957\">This design responds to a transitional regime that protects situations inherited from the previous system, but is no longer considered an ordinary means of access to family benefits.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2959\" data-end=\"3178\"><strong data-start=\"2959\" data-end=\"3009\">Income limits: the key to not losing it<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2959\" data-end=\"3178\">Maintenance of the benefit in 2026 is conditional on the household&#8217;s income level. Exceeding the fixed thresholds implies automatic suspension of the benefit. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3180\" data-end=\"3209\">The established limits are:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3210\" data-end=\"3410\">\n<li data-start=\"3210\" data-end=\"3257\">\n<p data-start=\"3212\" data-end=\"3257\"><strong data-start=\"3212\" data-end=\"3236\">15,356 euros per year<\/strong> as a general cap.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3258\" data-end=\"3311\">\n<p data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3311\"><strong data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3284\">23,109 euros per year<\/strong> for large families.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3312\" data-end=\"3410\">\n<p data-start=\"3314\" data-end=\"3410\">As of the fourth child, the limit is increased by an <strong data-start=\"3367\" data-end=\"3409\">additional 3,745 euros for each child.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3412\" data-end=\"3711\">These brackets seek to adjust protection to the actual composition of households, allowing a larger margin the greater the number of dependent children. However, Social Security periodically monitors this income and, if it detects that the limits have been exceeded, it can suspend payment. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3713\" data-end=\"3898\">In addition, if it is found that a family has continued to receive the assistance without meeting the economic requirements, it will be possible to demand the return of the amounts unduly received.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3900\" data-end=\"4182\"><strong data-start=\"3900\" data-end=\"3947\">Automatic collection, without new applications<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3900\" data-end=\"4182\">Another key feature of the system is that <strong data-start=\"3988\" data-end=\"4037\">it will not be necessary to submit an application to<\/strong> continue receiving the benefit in 2026. Even so, it is advisable to periodically check the status of the benefit through the official channels available. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4507\" data-end=\"4650\"><strong data-start=\"4507\" data-end=\"4548\">Where to check the aid status<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4507\" data-end=\"4650\">Families can check if they are still beneficiaries and if the payments are active through:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4651\" data-end=\"4963\">\n<li data-start=\"4651\" data-end=\"4732\">\n<p data-start=\"4653\" data-end=\"4732\"><strong data-start=\"4663\" data-end=\"4686\">Your Social Security<\/strong> portal, in the family benefits section.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4733\" data-end=\"4818\">\n<p data-start=\"4735\" data-end=\"4818\">The <strong data-start=\"4749\" data-end=\"4762\">Importass<\/strong> application, which centralizes procedures with the Social Security.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4819\" data-end=\"4963\">\n<p data-start=\"4821\" data-end=\"4963\">Bank movements, especially in the first payments of the year, to confirm that the benefit continues to be paid normally.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4965\" data-end=\"5102\">These tools make it possible to detect any incidents in advance and act before suspensions or complaints occur.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"5104\" data-end=\"5361\"><strong data-start=\"5104\" data-end=\"5154\">Changes that must be reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5104\" data-end=\"5361\">Although the collection is automatic, the obligation to inform the Social Security is still in full force and effect.
