The two islands received during 2025 a total of <strong>3,217 people arriving in irregular boats<\/strong>, which means <strong>an increase of 16.45%<\/strong> over the previous year, according to official data from the Government Delegation to which had access <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/\">La Voz de Ibiza.<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"643\" data-end=\"1010\">\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/6-3-million-euros-the-annual-bill-of-the-menas-in-ibiza\/?swcfpc=1\">6.3 million euros, the annual bill of the &#8216;menas&#8217; in Ibiza<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1351\"><strong data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1071\">Formentera is once again the most critical point of entry of the pitiusas<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1109\">167 pateras <\/strong>(identical to the number registered last year)<strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1109\"> and 2,791 people<\/strong> arriving in 2025. The number of immigrants is slightly lower than in 2024 as a whole, when 2,670 immigrants were registered. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1351\">In the case of <strong data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1151\">Ibiza<\/strong>, the official registry indicates the arrival of <strong data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1232\">27 boats and 426 immigrants<\/strong>, representing a growth of <strong data-start=\"1271\" data-end=\"1282\">23.12%<\/strong> compared to 2024, when 346 people were counted in 22 boats.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1503\"><strong data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1409\">The combined figure for the Pitiusas (3,217 people)<\/strong> represents <strong data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1455\">44.2% of the total number of immigrants<\/strong> who entered the Balearic Islands by sea in 2025.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1510\" data-end=\"1573\">Balearic Islands surpassed 7,200 irregular immigrants in one year<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1873\">Overall, the Balearic Islands received <strong data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1640\">397 boats<\/strong> with <strong data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"1666\">7,279 immigrants<\/strong> throughout the year, compared to the 5,846 registered in 2024.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1873\">This represents an overall increase of <strong data-start=\"1749\" data-end=\"1777\">24.51% in vessels<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1806\">24.5% in persons<\/strong>, consolidating the upward trend of the Algerian migratory route.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/housing-immigration-and-tourism-mari-marks-ibizas-priorities-in-his-christmas-message\/?swcfpc=1\">Housing, data-end=\"1887\">Mallorca<\/strong> continues to lead the statistics with <strong data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"1966\">4,051 immigrants and 202 boats<\/strong>, although the percentage increase is more moderate<strong data-start=\"2014\" data-end=\"2025\">(43.14 %<\/strong>) compared to other islands.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2052\" data-end=\"2184\">In the case of <strong data-start=\"2066\" data-end=\"2077\">Menorca<\/strong>, only one patera was registered with 11 people, which confirms its status as a marginal area on this route.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2191\" data-end=\"2257\">Formentera quadruples the data of 2022<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2259\" data-end=\"2482\">Formentera, with similar figures in terms of the number of boats with respect to 2024<strong data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2351\">(167 in both years<\/strong>), <strong data-start=\"2354\" data-end=\"2414\">has once again increased the number of people rescued<\/strong>, from 2,670 to 2,791, which represents an increase of <strong data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2481\">4.53%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2484\" data-end=\"2719\"><strong data-start=\"2484\" data-end=\"2498\">Since 2022<\/strong>, when 700 arrivals were recorded, the island has quadrupled the volume of irregular maritime immigration, consolidating its position as one of the <strong data-start=\"2646\" data-end=\"2718\">main entry points along the entire Spanish Mediterranean coast.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2726\" data-end=\"2763\">Origin of immigrants in 2025<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2765\" data-end=\"2954\">Most of the immigrants intercepted this year are of <strong data-start=\"2825\" data-end=\"2858\">sub-Saharan (49.77%)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2861\" data-end=\"2882\">North African (48.58%)<\/strong> <strong data-start=\"2825\" data-end=\"2858\">origin<\/strong>, with a testimonial presence of people of Asian origin
