Between <strong data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"389\">January and November 2025<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"420\" data-end=\"459\">1,076 vehicles with this propulsion<\/strong> were registered on the island, which represents an <strong data-start=\"478\" data-end=\"500\">increase of 37%<\/strong> over the same period last year and consolidates hybrids as one of the main alternatives to traditional engines. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"1170\">This growth has significantly widened the gap to <strong data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"735\">diesel vehicles<\/strong>, which continue to lose market share on the island. While in 2024 hybrids overtook diesel for the first time with a difference of 112 registrations, in 2025 the gap <strong data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"946\">has almost doubled<\/strong>, with only <strong data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"999\">541 diesel vehicles<\/strong> registered up to November. This change takes place in a context marked by European restrictions on this type of motorization and by the progressive renewal of the vehicle fleet, according to <em>Diario de Ibiza<\/em>.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1172\" data-end=\"1660\"><strong data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1194\">Diesel engines<\/strong> have thus accumulated a <strong data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1243\">year-on-year<\/strong> decline of <strong data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1243\">7.5%<\/strong>, a drop that confirms a long-term trend. Eight years ago, Ibiza registered <strong data-start=\"1340\" data-end=\"1372\">1,548 diesel registrations<\/strong> in the first eleven months of the year, while today the figure has fallen to just over a third. <strong data-start=\"1506\" data-end=\"1531\">Gasoline<\/strong> vehicles are also on the decline, with <strong data-start=\"1537\" data-end=\"1562\">2,354 registrations<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1567\" data-end=\"1582\">1.38% less<\/strong> than in 2024 and a far cry from the pre-crisis levels of 2008.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"2223\">As for <strong data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1702\">electric vehicles<\/strong>, their evolution continues to be irregular. Although registrations have increased by <strong data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1797\">97.2%<\/strong> over the previous year, reaching <strong data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1855\">213 units<\/strong>, the growth loses strength if analyzed in the medium term. In 2021, 247 electric vehicles were registered on the island and, since then, the figures have fluctuated downwards, conditioned by factors such as their <strong data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2073\">high price<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2079\" data-end=\"2101\">limited range<\/strong>, despite technological improvements. In contrast, hybrids have managed to consolidate and are already far ahead of diesel.   <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2225\" data-end=\"2752\">The situation is different in <strong data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2268\">Formentera<\/strong>, where the market shows a more contained evolution. Registrations of <strong data-start=\"2347\" data-end=\"2372\">gasoline vehicles<\/strong> fell to <strong data-start=\"2392\" data-end=\"2408\">231 units<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2413\" data-end=\"2426\">down 51%<\/strong> year-on-year, while <strong data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2466\">diesel<\/strong> vehicles remain fairly stable, with an increase of <strong data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2527\">3.7%<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2530\" data-end=\"2552\">28 registrations<\/strong>. <strong data-start=\"2558\" data-end=\"2570\">Hybrids<\/strong> continued to rise, with <strong data-start=\"2594\" data-end=\"2607\">113 registrations<\/strong> and growth of <strong data-start=\"2629\" data-end=\"2636\">98%<\/strong>, while <strong data-start=\"2655\" data-end=\"2669\">electric<\/strong> vehicles remained stagnant, with <strong data-start=\"2697\" data-end=\"2719\">13 registrations<\/strong>, the same as the previous year.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2754\" data-end=\"3373\">Overall, <strong data-start=\"2767\" data-end=\"2776\">Ibiza<\/strong> recorded <strong data-start=\"2791\" data-end=\"2816\">4,627<\/strong> vehicle <strong data-start=\"2791\" data-end=\"2816\">registrations<\/strong> in the first eleven months of the year, <strong data-start=\"2869\" data-end=\"2881\">9.4% more<\/strong> than in 2024 and the best figure since 2019, although still far from the more than 8,000 units prior to the 2008 crisis. The increase is mainly concentrated in <strong data-start=\"3048\" data-end=\"3060\">passenger cars<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"3066\" data-end=\"3081\">2,498 registrations<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"3092\" data-end=\"3108\">motorcycles<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"3114\" data-end=\"3139\">1,403 registrations<\/strong>.
