The writer from Ja\u00e9n, who had already shaken the publishing scene with his successful chronicle of the Civil War, has won tonight the <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"217\">Nadal Novel Prize 2026<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">His winning work, entitled <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"273\">&#8216;La ciudad de las luces muertas&#8217;<\/b>, represents not only his definitive consolidation, but also his resounding leap to Planeta publishing house after his successful time at Siruela.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"4\">A prestigious jury for a unique voice<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The novel, which will hit bookstores on <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"50\">February 4<\/b>, unanimously convinced a high-level jury made up of names such as V\u00edctor del \u00c1rbol, Care Santos and In\u00e9s Mart\u00edn Rodrigo. The experts defined Ucl\u00e9s as an exceptional creator, highlighting his ability to remind us that hope and light always resurface through imagination. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The award, in addition to the historical prestige it carries (being the oldest literary prize in Spain), has a prize of <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"500\">30,000 euros<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"6\">What is &#8220;La ciudad de las luces muertas&#8221; the work of Ucl\u00e9s about?<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\"><b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">La ciudad de las luces muertas&#8217;<\/b> is a total immersion in magical realism: the plot takes us to a reinvented Barcelona, a city where time is blurred and fictional architectures coexist with real ones. As he confessed when he collected the statuette, he entered the contest uninterruptedly for a decade (2010-2020) without success, even throwing in the towel.
