The island of Formentera<\/a> will host for the first time the Balearic Island Audiovisual Market (BIAM)<\/strong> next Thursday, November 14. Thus, this event that seeks to promote the professionalization of cultural industries<\/strong> in the Balearic Islands will have marked presence in the four islands of the archipelago. The meeting will have free admission and will be held at the Sala de Cultura-Cinema de Sant Francesc<\/strong>. There will be both training activities and audiovisual projections, as reported Wednesday by the BIAM organization and the Consell de Formentera.<\/strong> The day will begin at 7 p.m. with a workshop on artificial intelligence<\/strong> applied to digital creation and graphic design by the Balearic graphic designer \u00c1ngel Luque. Then a selection of<\/strong> professional short films<\/strong> will be screened. This is a section called ‘BIAM in Shorts<\/em>‘, which includes productions with “great recognition and nominations for prestigious awards”, as highlighted by the organizers, such as the Goya<\/strong>, the Forqu\u00e9<\/strong> and the Oscars<\/strong>. Among the titles to be screened are ‘BEN’, directed by Miki Dur\u00e1n, short film candidate for the Goya 2025, Forqu\u00e9 2024 and Oscar 2025; ‘El trono’, by Luc\u00eda Jim\u00e9nez, candidate for Goya 2025 and Forqu\u00e9 2024; ‘Humorm\u00e0tic’, by Pau Escribano, candidate for Forqu\u00e9 2024 and ‘Diari d’un operador cinematogr\u00e0fic’, directed by Dani Seguit Florit, candidate for Goya 2024. The event on the smaller Pitiusa has the support of the Institut d’Estudis Bale\u00e0rics of the Bal<\/strong> earic Government<\/strong> and the collaboration of the Consell de Formentera, the Formentera Film Festival and Radioilla. <\/p>\n

A benchmark for the audiovisual industry<\/strong><\/h2>\n

BIAM offers a space for the exchange of experiences and the establishment of strategic connections between professionals in the sector. And it is framed in a series of parallel activities. In April, for example, Ibicine<\/a> was held. Subsequently, between October 25 and 27, Calvi\u00e0 was transformed, for the fourth consecutive year, into the epicenter of the audiovisual sector, bringing together producers, creators and key players in the field of fiction and entertainment. BIAM continues now in Formentera, with a new edition scheduled for December in Menorca.
