This cut, added to previous reductions applied since 2020, puts at risk the survival of the Mediterranean fishing sector, including the small fleet of Formentera, composed of two vessels: <strong>Punta de Ponent<\/strong> and <strong>La Punta Gavina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/12\/05\/sin-arrastre-no-hay-pescado-en-el-plato-la-advertencia-del-conseller-de-pesca-balear-a-la-ue\/?swcfpc=1\">&#8220;No trawling, no fish on the plate&#8221;, the Balearic Fisheries Minister&#8217;s warning to the EU<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Planned mobilizations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In coordination with the fishermen&#8217;s guilds of the Spanish Mediterranean, the owners of these vessels will not go out to fish on <strong>December 9 and 10<\/strong> as a sign of disagreement with the proposed measures. In addition, representatives of the sector will attend a demonstration organized in front of the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> office <strong>in Madrid<\/strong>, where they will be accompanied by fishermen from Andalusia, Murcia, Valencia and Catalonia. The <strong>Mayor Patron of the Fishermen&#8217;s Guild of Formentera<\/strong>, <strong>Iv\u00e1n P\u00e9rez Mar\u00ed<\/strong>, will also go to Brussels to express the island&#8217;s rejection of this proposal, which they consider unsustainable for traditional fishing.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Concentration in La Savina<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Locally, next Monday, at <strong>10:30 am<\/strong>, a rally will be held at the port of <strong>La Savina<\/strong>, which will be attended by the president of the Consell, <strong>Lloren\u00e7 C\u00f3rdoba<\/strong>, in support of the island&#8217;s fishing sector.
