The image was shared on social networks by a neighbor, <strong>Bernadett El Ouazzani-V\u00e1nyi<\/strong>, who captured the imposing waterspout from <strong>Babylon Beach<\/strong> and commented: &#8220;Waterspout at 8:05 in Santa Eul\u00e0ria del Riu&#8221;. The Balearic Islands, including the Pitiusas, are under weather watch by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/11\/11\/llega-la-dana-a-ibiza-y-formentera-alerta-naranja-y-maxima-precaucion\/?swcfpc=1\">State Meteorological Agency<\/a> (Aemet)<\/strong>, which has forecast rainfall of up to 40 liters per square meter in one hour and accumulated 100 liters in the next 12 hours. This alert began early Tuesday morning and will remain active until noon on Wednesday, at which time the weather situation could give a break to the region.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Emergency Plan and Precautionary Measures<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>General Directorate of Emergencies and Interior<\/strong> has activated the <strong>Severity Index 1 (IG1)<\/strong> of the <strong>Special Plan for Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (Meteobal)<\/strong> and the <strong>Inunbal Plan in operational situation (SO) 0<\/strong>, reinforcing the need for precaution against possible flooding. In addition, inhabitants have been reminded of preventive measures in homes, such as securing windows and doors, and moving valuable items and basic supplies to safe areas. In the countryside and urban areas, it is recommended to avoid areas of torrents or flood risk and seek shelter in buildings. On the road, authorities ask to avoid unnecessary travel, and in case of reduced visibility, to stop the vehicle and stay safe. <strong>Emergencies<\/strong> insist on not crossing flooded areas, as even a small amount of water can wash away vehicles.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>School Activities and Education Protocol<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Ministry of Education and Universities<\/strong> has decided to suspend all extracurricular activities in schools in the Balearic Islands, although it is confirmed that classes will continue normally.
