According to the Health Area, the microorganisms detected are normal in the environment outside surgical areas, but their presence in operating rooms in high concentrations represents a potential risk to patient safety. For this reason, the Infection Control Unit, in collaboration with the Microbiology Service, has recommended the temporary closure of these facilities.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Constant analysis to avoid risks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The check in question was carried out in <strong>November<\/strong>, after environmental testing in <strong>October<\/strong> certified that levels were adequate for surgical activity. This finding underscores the importance of regular testing, as it allows any deviations from health safety standards to be detected and addressed early. In response, extraordinary cleaning measures have been implemented, including a comprehensive disinfection of the operating rooms and delivery rooms, as well as a thorough review of the air conditioning systems. <strong>Fogging with hydrogen peroxide<\/strong> is planned for this weekend, followed by further sampling to verify the effectiveness of the corrective actions. During the temporary closure, which will last until next Tuesday, five scheduled surgeries have been rescheduled (one in traumatology, two in general surgery and two in gynecology), all of them considered to be delayed. On the other hand, a referral protocol to the <strong>Can Misses Hospital<\/strong> has been activated in case of urgent surgical interventions. So far, it has not been necessary to transfer any patient by SAMU 061 helicopter.
