The Algarve<\/strong>, located in Portugal<\/strong>, has once again been recognized as the best beach destination in the world<\/a> at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2024<\/strong>, held on November 24 in Madeira.<\/p>\n

This award, considered the “Oscar of Tourism,”<\/strong> marks the third time this region has won the title, following its victories in 2020 and 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a list of 23 nominees that included destinations such as the Maldives, Cancun, Seychelles and the Philippines, the Algarve has once again stood out for its stunning natural beauty and world-class tourism offerings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where is the Algarve<\/h2>\n

The Algarve is located in the extreme south of Portugal, a few hours flight from Spain<\/strong>, making it an ideal place for a getaway from Ibiza. Its 200-kilometer<\/strong> coastline is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and is known for its tranquility. In addition to its strategic location, the Algarve blends spectacular beaches with a rich history and local traditions, a combination that those who live in Ibiza know how to appreciate. <\/p>\n

Like the coves of Ibiza, the Algarve is famous for its varied landscapes, which include golden sandy beaches, hidden coves, impressive caves and majestic cliffs<\/strong>. With more than 330 days of sunshine a year<\/strong>, the Algarve offers experiences for all tastes: from sunbathing to water sports such as surfing, sailing and diving.<\/strong> In addition, many of its beaches have been recognized for their quality, with 86 blue flags, 69 beaches with the Gold Quality label and 13 with Zero Pollution recognition<\/strong>. To ensure inclusivity, the Algarve has 47 accessible beaches<\/strong>, ensuring that anyone can enjoy their beauty. <\/p>\n
