The Plenary of the City Council of Sant Josep <\/strong><\/a>has approved this Thursday the municipal budgets for 2025, which amount to 54,778,524.67 euros<\/strong>, representing an increase of 9.64% over the previous year. With this increase, the Consistory seeks to strengthen the attention to citizens by improving infrastructure, expanding the staff of the Local Police and the development of essential services. Mayor Vicente Roig<\/strong> thanked the abstention of the councilor of Unides Podem, Monica Fernandez<\/strong>, noting that his “casting vote” allowed to move forward a budget “key to the growth and prosperity of the municipality”.<\/p>\n

Increase in personnel and key investments<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the personnel area, the budget allocated amounts to 14,545,482.81 euros<\/strong>, 13.1% more than in 2024. This section includes the creation of 12 new positions<\/strong> in the Local Police, as well as five additional incorporations in the Town Planning department, in response to the increase of files and the new regional regulations. As for investments, the chapter contemplates an increase of 45.12%, with a total allocation of 5,894,086.77 euros.<\/strong> The priorities include the renovation of the supply and sanitation network, the improvement of roads and schools, as well as the execution of projects for sports infrastructures, such as the sports centers of Sant Agust\u00ed<\/strong> and es Cubells<\/strong>. These investments seek not only to improve the quality of life of residents, but also to support the sustainable development of the municipality. <\/p>\n

Commitment against gender violence<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The plenary also approved a motion on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25N)<\/strong>, reaffirming the commitment of the City Council in the fight against gender violence. The councilor for Equality, Marilina Serra<\/strong>, highlighted the actions carried out, such as abuse prevention workshops, training in equality for sports clubs and the installation of lilac points in municipal events. “This government team demonstrates with facts its commitment to equality and the eradication of any kind of violence against women and children,” said Serra, stressing the importance of continuing with active policies in this area. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
