The Government of the Balearic Islands<\/strong> and the Consell de Ibiza<\/strong><\/a> have signed a collaboration protocol worth 6 million euros for the improvement of the island’s roads during 2025. This announcement, made by the vice president and conseller of Economy, Finance and Innovation, Antoni Costa<\/strong><\/a>during his visit to the island, represents a crucial step towards addressing the historical needs of the Ibizan road network. Antoni Costa stressed that the agreement seeks to ensure the safety and functionality of the infrastructure, an essential aspect for the mobility of both residents and visitors. As he explained, these funds will allow the execution of priority works and strengthen connectivity within the island, laying the foundations for a more sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Beyond highways: other strategic projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In addition to investment in roads, the 2025 regional budgets include allocations for other relevant projects for Ibiza. Among them are improvements in educational infrastructure, such as the reform of the CEIP Sant Ciriac and the construction of the CEIP Es Farall\u00f3. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Also contemplated is the digitalization of the water cycle and the removal of the Talamanca outfall, key actions to reinforce environmental sustainability. In the area of housing, the Government has earmarked more than 4 million euros for programs such as Build to Rent<\/em> and emergency housing measures, with the aim of meeting one of the most pressing demands of the population.<\/p>\n

Institutional commitment to the island<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The president of the Consell Insular, Vicent Mar\u00ed<\/strong>, highlighted the importance of this protocol as part of a joint effort between the institutions to improve the quality of life in Ibiza. Mar\u00ed stressed that this investment in roads is part of a comprehensive plan that also includes measures to manage water and waste, as well as technological innovation projects. The president also recalled that, in the last two calls of the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS), investment in Ibiza reached 94.2 million euros, a reflection of the commitment to promote sustainable development on the island.
