The Prosecutor&#8217;s Office is requesting sentences totaling 56 years in prison for those involved, who would have stolen about 870,000 euros in cash and jewelry.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Planned robberies in the heart of Ibiza and Formentera<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The indictment states that the robberies were mainly carried out in establishments of high economic value, taking advantage of the 2015 tourist season.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/12\/17\/dos-detenidos-en-sant-antoni-por-robos-en-vehiculos-asi-actuaron-los-sospechosos\/?swcfpc=1\">Two arrested in Sant Antoni for car thefts: how the suspects acted<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Among the most serious crimes was the robbery of a jewelry store in Ibiza<\/strong>, where the accused disabled the alarm systems using adhesive tape and oxycutting tools, gaining access to a safe with jewelry valued at 500,000 euros. <strong>In Formentera, the gang stole 40,000 euros from a well-known <a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/11\/13\/capturan-en-ibiza-al-presunto-autor-de-un-robo-de-30-000-euros-en-un-restaurante\/?swcfpc=1\">restaurant<\/a>, while in Sant Antoni they stole 133,500 euros.<\/strong> In addition, in Playa d&#8217;en Bossa, an emblematic point of the island, they managed to steal 24,000 euros after forcing their way into a shop.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Internal connections and sophisticated tactics<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Two of the defendants, sons of the owner of a fire extinguishing systems company contracted by some of the affected premises, used their inside knowledge to identify weaknesses in the security systems. For other robberies, one of the members posed as a telephone technician in order to inspect the premises beforehand. The group also allegedly used a vehicle stolen from a dealership in Palma, causing damages of more than 10,000 euros, to perpetrate some of their robberies on the islands.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Offenses and penalties requested<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The prosecution accuses the defendants of crimes of robbery with force, robbery with violence and document forgery, due to the use of false documentation to rent vehicles.
