This land will be used for the construction of <strong>subsidized housing (VPO) for rent<\/strong>, as part of the Integral Housing Plan &#8220;Eivissa, a city to live in&#8221;. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/10\/27\/65-viviendas-de-alquiler-asequible-se-construiran-en-can-canto-tras-la-cesion-del-solar-al-ibavi\/?swcfpc=1\">65 affordable rental housing units to be built in Can Cant\u00f3 after the transfer of the site to IBAVI<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The mayor of Eivissa, <strong>Rafael Triguero<\/strong>, stressed that this initiative is a firm step towards solving the housing problem affecting the island: &#8220;Our goal is to contribute to solving the problem of access to housing with real and effective measures. That is why <strong>we are projecting some 1,000 housing units<\/strong> to offer new life opportunities in our city&#8221;. This measure is in addition to others already approved, such as the <strong>recent transfer of the Can Cant\u00f3 land to IBAVI for the construction of 65 subsidized housing units for rent<\/strong> on a <strong>4,020 square meter<\/strong> plot next to the <strong>Can Cant\u00f3<\/strong> public school. This project seeks to increase the supply of public housing and promote access to affordable rentals on an island marked by rising prices in the real estate market. The agreement to be approved this Thursday includes a <strong>15-day public information period<\/strong>, during which interested parties may consult the file and submit allegations on the municipal website or through the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB). The government team, led by Triguero, reaffirms its commitment to the creation of a public affordable housing stock that facilitates access to a home for the most vulnerable families on the island.
