{"id":79039,"date":"2024-12-23T11:35:29","date_gmt":"2024-12-23T10:35:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/2024\/12\/23\/vicent-mari-dismissed-in-the-case-la-vida-islados\/"},"modified":"2024-12-23T11:35:29","modified_gmt":"2024-12-23T10:35:29","slug":"vicent-mari-dismissed-in-the-case-la-vida-islados","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/vicent-mari-dismissed-in-the-case-la-vida-islados\/","title":{"rendered":"Vicent Mar\u00ed dismissed in the case &#8220;La Vida Islados&#8221;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Court of Instruction Number 4 of Ibiza<\/strong> decreed the <strong>provisional dismissal of the president of the Consell de Ibiza, Vicent Mar\u00ed,<\/strong> in the case<em>&#8220;La Vida Islados<\/em>&#8220;, considering that the emergency contracting of an advertising campaign in 2020 was legally justified due to the tourist crisis situation on the island.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/12\/06\/vicent-mari-alerta-que-la-llegada-de-pateras-con-menores-esta-llevando-al-limite-a-los-servicios-asistenciales\/?swcfpc=1\">Vicent Mar\u00ed warns that the arrival of small boats with minors &#8220;is pushing assistance services to the limit&#8221;.<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the court order, it is determined that <strong>Vicent Mar\u00ed did not commit the crime of prevarication, influence peddling and coercion of the then deputy auditor Mar\u00eda Ana Tur D\u00edaz<\/strong>, as reported this morning by <em>Peri\u00f3dico de Ibiza.<\/em> For the judge, &#8220;the use of the figure of the emergency contract was <strong>a legally possible and defensible option<\/strong>&#8221; and explains that &#8220;the situation of tourist sinking of the island is a modality covered by the emergency&#8221;. In addition, none of the witnesses &#8220;with technical and legal capacity that have appeared in this case have questioned the emergency contracting&#8221;, as detailed by El <em>Peri\u00f3dico de Ibiza<\/em> from the order of the Court of Instruction. For its part, <strong>the PSOE did not make any presentation in the Contentious Administrative Court.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What the case was about<\/h2>\n<p>The <em>&#8220;La Vida Islados<\/em>&#8221; case was initiated as a result of an investigation into the   <strong>contracting of an advertising campaign by the Consell de Ibiza.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2020, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Consell awarded urgently and directly the production of a promotional video entitled &#8220;La Vida Islados&#8221; to the company<strong> Fuera de Escena Ibiza SL, with an approximate cost of 250,000 euros.<\/strong> This decision generated suspicions of irregularities and possible crimes of prevarication, influence peddling and coercion, which led to the intervention of the<strong> Anti-Corruption Prosecutor&#8217;s Office and the opening of a judicial investigation.<\/strong> The legal process included statements from various parties, including the Consell&#8217;s comptroller, <strong>Mar\u00eda Ana Tur D\u00edaz,<\/strong> who claimed to have suffered <strong>situations of harassment and coercion related to the campaign.<\/strong> For his part, Vicent
