The measure, included in the Municipal Traffic Ordinance, seeks to adjust mobility to an <strong>Area 30<\/strong> model, affecting all roads owned by the municipality, while those managed by other administrations are outside this regulation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/01\/15\/cinco-pozos-de-ibiza-son-intervenidos-para-reducir-la-salinidad-en-el-alcantarillado\/?swcfpc=1\">Five wells in Ibiza are intervened to reduce salinity in the sewage system<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Regulatory details<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The initial approval of the decree took place on <strong>September 30, 2024<\/strong>, and the official publication in the <strong>BOIB<\/strong> took place on <strong>December 24.<\/strong> According to municipal documents, the regulation aims to reduce accident rates, improve traffic flow and reduce pollutant emissions and environmental noise.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_81684\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-81684\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-81683\" title=\"Maximum zones at 30.\" src=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1000123207-300x212.jpg\" alt=\"Maximum zones at 30.\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1000123207-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1000123207-768x543.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1000123207.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-81684\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Maximum zones at 30.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Previous studies in other localities with similar measures have indicated a decrease in noise pollution levels of up to <strong>2.5 decibels<\/strong>, as well as a reduction of between <strong>17% and 48%<\/strong> in pollutant gas emissions, depending on the type of vehicles and traffic conditions.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Implementation and expectations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With the entry into force of this measure, the City Council has indicated that it will carry out a follow-up to assess the real impact on mobility and road safety. In addition, it is expected that information and awareness campaigns will be carried out so that drivers adapt to the new limits.
