{"id":81824,"date":"2025-01-18T13:41:33","date_gmt":"2025-01-18T12:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/sin-categorizar\/2025\/01\/18\/the-mother-of-all-agreements-already-has-a-date-for-the-start-of-negotiations\/"},"modified":"2025-01-18T13:41:33","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T12:41:33","slug":"the-mother-of-all-agreements-already-has-a-date-for-the-start-of-negotiations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/en\/current-news\/the-mother-of-all-agreements-already-has-a-date-for-the-start-of-negotiations\/","title":{"rendered":"The mother of all agreements already has a date for the start of negotiations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the <a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/?s=ugt&amp;lang=es\"><strong>Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption of the UGT<\/strong><\/a> (FeSMC) registered the denunciation of the hotel and catering agreement with the Labor and Occupational Health Directorate of the Balearic Islands, the <strong>negotiation process for a new labor agreement<\/strong> for workers in the Balearic Islands has been set in motion and already has a date: <strong>February 6.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/01\/04\/las-peticiones-de-ugt-para-el-nuevo-convenio-de-hosteleria-35-horas-a-la-semana-un-minimo-de-nueve-meses-para-los-180-000-trabajadores\/?swcfpc=1\">UGT&#8217;s demands for the new hospitality agreement: 35 hours a week for a minimum of nine months for the 180,000 workers<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On that day, negotiations will begin between employers and unions in the hotel and catering sector to define the conditions of the<strong> 180,000 people employed in hotels, restaurants and bars in the archipelago.<\/strong> Among the priorities of UGT is the need to <strong>demand strong wage increases<\/strong> and to establish a <strong>35-hour<\/strong> working <strong>week.<\/strong> In this sense, they expect to reach a <strong>wage increase of more than 5%,<\/strong> a percentage higher than the last two agreements reached. In addition, they are demanding the <strong>extension of the guaranteed work period for permanent employees<\/strong>, from the current six months to nine months a year, as well as measures to improve occupational health. In this sense, the union requests the <strong>extension of the workload measurement to kitchen and dining room staff<\/strong>, as well as a special plan to prevent heat stress, an increasingly pressing problem in summer due to rising temperatures. <strong>The sustainability of the sector also requires a training and qualification plan<\/strong>, whose effective implementation will be another of the points that UGT will bring to the negotiating table.
