In a statement issued on Wednesday, the union has pointed out that stress and anxiety attacks are affecting workers due to the high pressure of care.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/01\/08\/crisis-en-el-hospital-can-misses-pacientes-esperan-dias-para-una-cama-en-planta\/?swcfpc=1\">Crisis at Can Misses Hospital: patients wait days for a bed on the ward<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>An alarming reality in numbers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>USAE pointed out that the emergency department attended <strong>61 patients<\/strong> on Wednesday, of which <strong>10 were waiting to be admitted<\/strong> due to the lack of available beds. This scenario evidences, according to the union, that the current contingency plan is not sufficient to handle the healthcare peaks that usually occur in the colder months, where respiratory viruses significantly increase healthcare demand. &#8220;It is clear that the current contingency plan does not respond to the real needs of the hospital. We call for an urgent review to adapt it to the healthcare reality and prevent this situation from worsening even further,&#8221; said USAE.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Lack of resources and foresight<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The union has also stressed that the saturation of emergency services in <strong>January and February<\/strong> is not a new phenomenon, but regrets that those who manage healthcare do not take effective preventive measures. &#8220;Insufficient staffing and material resources remain a constant year after year,&#8221; they have denounced, stressing that this situation reflects a lack of planning and sensitivity to the needs of healthcare staff and patients.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>An urgent call to action<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>USAE has called for an <strong>immediate assessment<\/strong> of the current conditions at the hospital, urging the health authorities to review the available resources and strengthen the workforce.
